Major Spoilers - Stephen Schleicher Mar 19, 2009

As disappointed as I am in the decision makers who are killing the Ultimate Universe, I'm equally excited to see what comes next. If Marvel has to end this world to begin another, pulling a Day After Tomorrow stunt is better than an energy being gobbling up the multiverse left and right. Even with the tie-in issues, this event seems to be moving almost too fast and that ultimately is what brings Ultimatum down - a lot of flash, but very little in the way of character development, earning Ultimatum #3 3 out of 5 Stars. I suppose this is one way of getting rid of the Ultimate Universe - but it seems an awful waste of a concept with a lot of potential. Read Full Review

While this is not the greatest book from Marvels Ultimate line it is Jeph Loebs greatest work for the Ultimate line. Unfortunately that really isnt saying much. The bottom line is that if youve been following the Ultimate Universe or just this series, its worth getting just for the sake of seeing where things are headed. Read Full Review

Ultimatum #3 is now the clear front-runner for my worst comic book of the year. At this point, the only real competition I expect it to face are issues #4 and 5. I want this whole travesty to be over, and it depresses me to no end that I have two more issues and countless more months to trudge through before the big Ultimate relaunch ushers in what I can only assume is a far better status quo. I don't care how improved the Ultimate Universe may or may not be following Ultimatum. The greatest of ends don't even begin to justify means like this. I know Ultimatum won't end in a reboot, Marvel, but is it too late to change your minds? Read Full Review

Comic Book Bin - Zak Edwards Mar 22, 2009

For David Finch, nothing sums up his abilities more than the first few pages. The idea is Mystique is making herself look like the Scarlet Witch to... do a recap? Thats right, David Finch dresses up Mystique as Scarlet Witch in a thong, leans her over her father and tells him everything hes done in the past two issues. And the whole time Magneto and Mystique have the same amount of emotion as the Barbie Dolls their based off of. I would love to see the script these pages are written for, they must be fairly pathetic, something to the effect of Get Scarlet Witch in something seriously skimpy and parade her in front of her father. I want incest, David, lots of incest. The rest of the comic book is of about the same caliber. Read Full Review
