Proof that smaller scale, introspective issues can work well even back in the day. What is essentially a reset for the New X-Men with the reintroduction to Charles Xavier since his departure into space, he takes a hard line with the new members of the team, treating them as green as they used to be. Cyclops, taking responsibility for them as well as his leadership skills in Xavier's absence is showcased well.
I appreciate the levity given in the issue between Kitty and Storm. Everyone is okay finally getting to relax and spend the day with one another. It's a fantastic representation of a what we lack in today's comics. Not everything needs to be a slice of life but sometimes the mundane moments tell the most about the characters' pers more
