AIPT - David Brooke
Apr 15, 2026Venom #257 does exactly what a penultimate issue should do. It builds tension, raises the stakes, and sets the stage for a big finish. Charles Soule leans into the Carnage and Torment pairing, giving their relationship just enough edge to keep things interesting while delivering the kind of brutal action fans expect from this event. Javier Pina matches that energy with sharp, aggressive visuals that make every encounter feel dangerous. It may not give Eddie Brock much to do, but it keeps the story moving and leaves things in a place that makes the finale feel essential. Read Full Review

Venom #257 reads poorly. The issue is a mess of things happening, chase aunt may then shes gone. so very little develops or has been shown in about the character Torment, his powers( new ones appear with no explanation). just nothing has been revealed. this means one thing. the last issue is going to be jammed full of stuff and move at a huge pace to fit it all in. 10 issues and they have done so little. thats almost 40 bucks worth of comics for nothing. the best part about the issue is the art, however the death spiral storyline is a mess. the ending panel with Spider Carnage... we have seen this already with Ben getting Carnage ,it wasn't cool then and Franky, I'm so tired of Carnage already.
