PARENTAL ADVISORY
Overall, Wastelanders: Doom is an excellent entry into the Wastelanders canon that shows villains can be a hero even when they don't look to be. The story by Gronbekk is amazing. The art by the creative is breathtaking. Altogether, a story which shows why the MCU should bring Viktor Von Doom into the MCU sooner than later. Read Full Review
Wastelanders: Doom #1 is a great one-shot that explores Dr. Doom in a meaningful and satisfying way. This series of one-shots continues to have trouble asserting its own importance, but as far as character exploration, this is one of the best yet. Read Full Review
I would recommend this one if you are into post-apocalyptic stories and also superheroes. Read Full Review
Wastelanders: Doom #1 delivers a post-apocalyptic story with Dr. Doom as the lead character. This works for and against the comic since the writer gets Dr. Doom right as a character, but mileage will vary if readers wanted to see a far more different version of Doom. Wastelanders: Doom is a book that relies a little too much on its surprises to help propel its plot forward. That said, the script does slightly carry its own weight with the content within, crafting arguably the most "different" Wastelanders story today. Read Full Review
Good read. We need more one-and-done stories like this.
Good premise, good art, good take on Doom. The dialogue's a little shaky in the first scene, but it tightens up fast.
And I like the surprise character reveal at the end. It's rare for any Wasteland story to make me want more Wasteland stories, but I'd gladly read a one-shot or miniseries about Sofia.
I was surprisingly a little less impressed by this one. I think it was just a little too stilted in some places for my taste.
