  This is a ripping yard of piracy and sorcery, which highlights an often overlooked aspect of Conan’s background and the true character of Valeria of the Red Brotherhood.   This is a really strong start to the new story arc. Jim Zub does a great job of establishing Valeria as a woman who is every bit as ready for adventure and action as Conan. I particularly enjoyed the banter between Valeria and her crewmate Morley. The duel between them, which gets interrupted by the storm, is a nice touch that helps showcase her character and adventurous spirit. Read Full Review

  Conan the Barbarian #33 is a terrific start to the new story arc, this one focused on Conan and Valeria's time as pirates. The initial action scene is great to see, but the real meat of the issue comes with the mysterious and severe storm as well as the invisible assailant who strikes during it. There is an intriguing mystery set forth that will challenge the Cimmerian in the issues to come. All in all, this book seldom disappoints, and this issue is no exception. Read Full Review
