An essential prelude to HARBINGER WARS 2 - the seismic 2018 crossover event at the epicenter of the Valiant Universe!
Beneath the wreckage of the Harbinger Foundation, there is a secret that even Toyo Harada grew to fear. A secret simply known as...the Stormbringer.
And Alexander Solomon is about to set it free.
Out of the ashes of "MASSACRE," the march toward the most consequential Valiant event of all time continues with an epic revelation at the heart of the Harbinger mythos - as told by Harvey Award-nominated writer Rafer Roberts (Plastic Farm) and incendiary artist Juan José Ryp (BRITANNIA)!
HARBINGER RENEGADE #0 is a successful prelude to HARBINGER WARS 2 and an incredibly exciting issue on its own. The mid-issue twist will shock even the most seasoned readers. Read Full Review
Harbingerhas ramped up the excitement for the next story arc, and it is shaping up to be the best one yet. I cannot think of a better title in Valiant to stick to in the coming months. Read Full Review
As the prelude issue to what will be HARBINGER WARS II, Valiant aims high and hits the mark dead on! The Alpha, or Stormbringer, is now free, and as Solomon has alluded, chaos is about to engulf the entire Valiant Universe. Roberts' writing combined with Ryp's artistic talents are the perfect combo to bring us this action-packed story of the Stormbringer's return. The foreshadowing of whats to come and the mysteries regarding this Stormbringer character leave me anxiously awaiting the next installment! There is no doubt going to be more casualties, and if the action in this issue is a taste of what we can expect, HARBINGER WARS 2 is going to be explosive! Read Full Review
Harbinger: Renegade #0 is an excellent read and enjoyable visual experience, coupled with an interesting story overflowing with action. Read Full Review
With the zero issue designation Harbinger Renegade #0 is technically taken out of the numbering sequence, although the story would have allowed this to serve as the next sequentially numbered issue – but that's a very minor and ultimately irrelevant point.Suffice to say that this issue is one of Roberts stronger ones, although if you're not reading the series as a whole then a lot of the hints and half answered questions may mean nothing to you – essentially what I'm saying here is that this may not be an ideal jumping on point, but it's a damn good comic. Harbinger Renegade #0 was without a doubt a great set-up for what should be the most consequential Valiant event of all time. This revelation at the heart of the Harbinger mythos changed a lot about what you thought you knew about those who came before. Not all of them are as divine, or with good intentions. If you were looking to see what kind of tone and atmosphere this sequel should carry, Harbinger Renegade #0 is the story to make sure you pick up. Read Full Review
Once again they're making non-super hero comics the new cool all the while makes me feel like I'm back in the mid 90's all over again when I see the art and writing the damn near attacks the reader""..in a good way of course. Read Full Review
This issue, which brims with excitement, more than whets the appetite for next May's showcase event. Yet again Solomon is on top, and the fact that our "big bad" in this issue has ancient origins gives us lot to uncover between now and then. A great story from Rafer Roberts rendered splendidly through the wonderful art of Juan Jose Ryp and colors which shine from Andrew Dalhouse. What's not to love? Top stuff. Read Full Review
Overall, I’m very satisfied with this issue on its own merits, and I’m also satisfied with where this leaves the story at the end of the current arc. I’m getting a vague idea where the various storylines are headed and how this will tie into the lead-up towards Harbinger Wars 2, which is encouraging given my previous complaints about the arc. I just hope that the next arc features more Solomon and more Juan Jose Ryp, whose reappearances are both very welcome. Also, I hope that as the story continues to unfold, they're able to address some of the questions that have emerged over the last two issues, especially regarding the nature of Solomon's plans and his powers. A technically fine book and one of the more enjoyable issues of the series overall, but there's a distinct lack of emotional heart to all the proceedings. Read Full Review
Harbinger Renegade #0 is a good H.A.R.D. C.O.R.P.S. issue that you should pick up just to be caught up on the story, but otherwise is not an important part of any Harbinger fan's collection. Still, Harbinger Wars II is on the way, and our patience shall be rewarded! Read Full Review
