A great and terrible loa of the Vodun pantheon is at large in the world of men...and its name is SHADOWMAN! The only way to contain it: kill the man who houses the shadow, Jack Boniface - an innocent, cursed with possession and gifted with a tremendous power he doesn't yet understand. But a force of nature known only as Tremble is spreading terror through the city of New Orleans. Turning Shadowman loose on his ancient rival, the god of fear, is either humanity's best option...or impending disaster.
The culmination of this arc's character development, plot, and sub-plot all work towards delivering a pleasantly executed conclusion, one that feels substantial and can be appreciated by how well woven plot-lines come together. Even with Milligan's minor errors, Torre and Baron's amazing art only elevate his writing, making for a real quality issue. Read Full Review
This book is awesome and you can pick it up off the shelf and jump in. I would say you miss a little if you don't previous issue but it sets perfect for the next arc. I really can now feel and awesomeness of Shadowman. Read Full Review
Roberto De La Torre and David Baron return to illustrate the entirety of this issue, but this issue wastes their talenton a story that fails to produce a satisfactory ending for any of Milligans ideas. Shadowman #16 drones on until finally everything gets put away neatly. The series takes a break for a 3 issue mini-series, but I cant imagine how it will wash the taste of this issue out of my mouth. It is a colossal disappointment. Read Full Review
A very painful read on all accounts for me. It was like the pages of the issue were made out of the screaming whip for me. Read Full Review
This book tackles three conflicts and wraps each of them up with increasingly dissatisfying explanations. Everything about Milligan's take on Shadowman is wrong. None of the characters are likeable, none of the plots are interesting, and none of the lore's potential is explored. Instead we focus on things like dealing with bullies, believing in yourself and the power of love. Even these things aren't done well. I'm very, very disappointed in Milligan's Shadowman run so far and I think I've learned my lesson. I'm done with this book for now. Read Full Review
ITALIA.
