X-O Manowar VERSUS the Eternal Warrior!
Aric of Dacia returns to Earth after the events of Planet Death with his mind set on reclaiming the ancestral lands of his people. Sometimes, with a series already one year in, it's hard to tell folks where a good jump-on point is. And while I'll tell you that if you've been itching to read this series to jump on right here, you really should pick up the first couple of trades. It's worth your money. I'm extremely pleased with how this issue turned out and I can't wait for the next few issues. I love the perspective change in this issue, which makes Aric seem like the "bad guy." He wants what is best for his people, the Visigoths, but he isn't the best at putting his brains into his plan. Here's where I make a ridiculous metaphor in order to get you to pick up this book. X-O MANOWAR keeps getting better and better, like fine wine or cheese, but not in a way where it becomes a wine or cheese snob. This is a perfect jumping on point for new readers and a great introduction of the Eternal Warrior who gets his own title in September. X-O Manowar #15 is a slower pace but it's a perfect pace to finally see Aric struggle with the loss of his people. Things are more complicated for Aric but Venditti sets the stage for a terrific new arc and an epic battle for two warriors fighting for home, honor and a future. Get on this title immediately! Lee Garbett returns to the series and deserves a hero's welcome. His detailed character work is perfect for an issue that features lots of contemplation and concern. You can see the anger and confusion that Aric carries with him. He's not the bad guy, just a man acting the only way he knows how. Garbett delivers in every panel, especially towards the end as tension ramps up during a confrontation between X-O and the Eternal Warrior. Read Full Review
I'm still very impressed with this book and I fail to compare it to anything else on the market. That's the wonderful thing about Valiant's entire line, there's nothing else like it. I have to say that their return to comics has been one of the best things I've witnessed in comics and with the quality of series like this, I think they'll be around for a very long time. This is a solid start to what appears to be a decent arc. Venditti has not disappointed so far on this title, and this was no exception. Teaming with Lee Garbett seems to be a perfect fit. His pencils are a welcome addition to a well written book. Read Full Review
This is another solid issue of X-O Manowar and it will be interesting to see where this series goes in the future, due to the Visigoths formerly of Dacia are not being very wise choosing their leader. X-O Manowar #15 isn't action packed, but as Venditti has proven, an excellent comic doesn't need to be explosive with every issue; he reminds us that quality suspense can't be achieved without good plot development. Read Full Review
Nuovo arco narrativo x Aric e la sua armatura. Sta tornando nel suo paese di appartenenza, l'ex Dacia, oggi Romania, insieme al suo popolo. ad attenderlo però c'è una sua vecchia conoscenza, Gilad, che a quanto pare è dotato di un qualche potere che lo rende invincibile, eterno. proverà a fargli cambiare idea sulla conquista della nazione.

This book is very strong. It's take is different because we see a fictionally culture of misplaced people that seems do believable. That was evident in this issue. Aric shows leadership in the way he brings his people home and implores them that it's the right decision. Then he meets up with Gilad, the Eternal Warrior, and there is believable interplay between old friends. The first half of the issue had pretty interesting art, but it seemed to fall off as soon as Gilad showed up.
