X-O Manowar certainly hasn't lost its intrigue with Aric's return to earth, and Vendetti has not once fallen out of step, keeping the story captivating in its pace. One hopes that though one war is over and a new one seems to be brewing, time will be taken to further flesh out not just Aric's character but the book's supporting female cast. Read Full Review

X-O Manowar is not a story about superheroes. It is an epic journey about a man that is lost in the present. Aric is flawed, pig-headed and quick to anger, but this is exactly what makes this read so enjoyable. X-O Manowar is shaping up to be the leader in the Valiant Universe and with so many solid titles that's no easy feat. Aric and Gilad's complicated relationship and history is the most interesting and dynamic in comics right now. Unity is going to be the toughest challenge for Aric and the Shanhara and, with the soon to be released Eternal Warrior title, the X-O Manowar section of the Valiant Universe looks to be it's best yet. If you haven't been reading this book, this issue is a great jumping on point. It gives you everything you need to know about Aric and his struggles, and sets up the upcoming event in such a natural way that new readers won't feel lost. Lee Garbett has become the artist on this series that all others should be judged against. No offense to the other very talented hands that have handled this world, but Garbett is just the bee's knees. He renders the past and present with equal care, letting the story shift seamlessly from ancient battle ground to modern day. And, you know, there's the lightning swords... you can't forget about the lightning swords. X-O Manowar #16 looks and reads great. Read Full Review
This comic has me wanting to read the previous issue and then coming back for more in the next issue of X-O. Also this is the second issue in a new story arc that will be leading up to the November release of the new Valiant team book called Unity. X-O will be a focus of Unity, as a team will be assembled on Earth to confront him. Unity also seems compelling as being the first team book from this new Valiant universe. This issue along with the previous issue is a decent jumping on point. It's a good place to start if you're interested in X-O Manowar and the new direction he's going within the Valiant universe. I have to say, I am really enjoying the more direct focus of this latest arc. It's playing to Robert Venditti and Lee Garbett's strength, and this issue was pretty rock solid. You have Aric being an arrogant jerk but getting worked (and then working) Eternal Warrior, you have him finding a lady, and you have the return of Alexander Dorian, and Lee Garbett is fantastic on all of it. X-O MANOWAR continues to deliver some of the most entertaining story telling in comic books. It's a fun mixture of the more traditional comics that so many people are used to and a little something different: month to month awesomeness. This is all building up to UNITY and it's just getting more an more exciting. The creative team here is dynamite, and if you're not reading X-O MANOWAR, you're insane... point blank. X-O Manowar has another really great issue with some strange implications going forward. Eventually it seems like Aric will straighten out his astronomical personal flaws, but until then this title chronicles the arrogant. Gilad tenta di convincere Aric a ragionare e gli ricorda come lo allenava per fargli capire come utilizzare la strategia invece della forza bruta, ma ilguerriero non vuole ssentire ragioni. belli i flashback, la storia fila e i disegni sono ottimi!
