Venditti's paced story and neat script allow for some seriously, awe worthy visual moments from Bernard and Reber. The quality storytelling and new reader accessibility make this comic a must for those interested in Valiant's Armour Hunters. Read Full Review
X-O MANOWAR always pushes forward towards something greater and that's what makes this just not a top book at Valiant, but also a top book in comics in general. This next arc kicks off with a bang, and while there were some small problems with things going on in space, most folks won't even notice it. This is a book you need on your pull list because it's not only a ton of fun, it's also a very satisfying read. Overall, I highly recommend this issue. Read Full Review
It's not often that you fall behind on a series because it's consistently great, but if you were like me then catch up. In a lot of ways X-O is the Valiant Universe. They built their world on his shoulders and he's more than capable of handling the load. Read Full Review
This issue aims to introduce a worthy adversary for Aric. Not many have been able to stand toe-to-toe with our protagonist. Many fights have ended before they even began thanks to Arics experience as a warrior paired up with the most advanced weapon in the galaxies. But now it would seem as though Aric might have met his match as he faces an opponent that not only knows more about X-O, but is unable to live without it. Read Full Review
Venditti continues to show a creative and fun handle of his characters, while the plot takes an interesting and potentially catastrophic twist. Teamed with the explosive talent of artists Diego Bernard and Brian Reber, X-O Manowar #23 is a hit. Read Full Review
As the prelude to Armor Hunters, you finish this issue with the anticipation of their inevitable arrival to Earth. The biggest question has always been what will follow Aric to Earth now that he holds one of the most powerful weapons in the Universe. Now that question is answered and the danger is real. Now it is all a matter of how Venditti will approach Aric's confrontation with these hunters, and how that will affect the rest of the world which we know by now will get caught in the fray. With Armor Hunters just over the horizon, nows the time to check out X-O Manowar before the you-know-what hits the fan. You can even go and check out the recent first arc of Unity if you want to get a little more on Aric and why hes working for the US Government without having to go all the way back to #1even though its highly recommended that you do start from the beginning and read Unity. Either way, jump on and enjoy something a little different and outside of your Marvels and DCs, you wont regret it. Read Full Review
Diego Bernard joins the Valiant Universe in this issue and his stuff is pretty impressive. The smaller moments look okay, but once X-O is in space things look freaking superb. The double-page spread that features X-O flying away from the Earth is breath taking. The action looks awesome, which is awesome sign of things to come. Alejandro Sicat inks this issue and he's not the best fit with Bernard's art. The book looks great, but some of Bernard's detail seems to be lost. Read Full Review
This was certainly an interesting issue, and I think that I'm going to stick with the series for the short term. See how it all develops and then go from there. Read Full Review
I feel like if Nord needs a break Bernard would be great as a permanent fill in. I also would agree that this is easily in the top three from Valiant for me. This book was once rather maligned by us but flipped some time ago and since that time has not looked back. This is title is consistently entertaining. Read Full Review
X-O Manowar #23 is a good book that is ultimately bogged down by some questionable editorial choices. It would be very interesting to have X-O Manowar in the position to be the focal point of the Valiant Universe kicking off new events, but at the moment, the new event storyline feels like a master that this book has to serve. Italia - oh si parte alla grande co questo nuovo arco narrativo! Disegni sempre super e tanto hype x la storia
Excellent. I'm fearing for Aric's safety which doesn't happen often while he has that armor on.
