It is not a masterpiece yet, but it is intriguing and interesting. Art is amazing, writing is pretty good. But these first 6 issues are just setting the pieces, so I am waiting for the next volume.

I have my problems but it's good so far. Geoff Johns basically does his best to write a story that has to act as a sequel to Watchmen while also work as a big DC universe event. And I think he does do a good job. Art by Gary Frank is great as always. I also enjoyed a lot of the new characters. Problems I had were that it felt a bit too fanservice-y. It felt like a fanfiction at times. It also feels like it's trying waaaay too hard to emulate the feel of Watchmen. This series isn't as good as Watchmen and never would've been, so it's a bit unfair to compare them. But as a Watchmen sequel it's fine. As a DC event it works better. But it's a decent first half and I can't wait to see it hopefully more developed in Vol 2.
