This takes a little warm up but the story will grab you, dig in and not let go. There is some great character and world building done. As for the art... its perfect. Its beautiful, unique and perfectly fits the story being told. I cannot explain why but it gives a feeling of wonder, hope, weariness, and perseverance. Just take a read, get prints of each of the pages. I could stare at them for hours...

The first half of this book may seem unremarkable. Truly it is a Daimler set up. But keep going and let the fantastic watercolor art and perfect characterization sink in, and you'll be hooked on the world of Descender.
