The reason why it has so many "good" reader reviews is that so many legacy Detective Comics readers have thrown up their hands and walked away and simply don't care anymore. That is the context of the reviews that is not evident.

It just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on. I don't even remember the main plot of this story or why I'm supposed to care. Batman is fighting who now? Anyway you slice it this convoluted story sucks. If you can't tell your story in 4 issues 6 max, then piss off.

I am talking about all Ram V run, because of this book is a part of repetitive story arc about Gotham.
Selina Kyle goes on her most daring and deadly heist yet-leaping headfirst into the heart of a melted-down nuclear reactor to steal highly valuable corium. But can she escape with only losing just one life…or are all her nine extra lives about to burn away?!

Catwoman takes center stage in Detective Comics #1079, the penultimate chapter of the "Batman: Outlaw" arc. Writer Ram V and artist Jason Shawn Alexander continue their thrilling run on the series, delivering a heist story with sharp twists, witty dialogue, and some truly jaw-dropping panels. Alexander's art is phenomenal, bringing Selina's true plan and this version of Gotham to life.

NINE LIVES PART TWO. Somewhere in one of the world's most beautiful cities, a dance to the death is taking place. The setting? An accursed theater where no matter the play in question, the stakes are life and death, with a prize worth more than its weight in gold. It's Batman versus The Joker in their most brutal fight of all time. But wait...Batman is also battling a legion of himself! What has Zur done? And who will walk away? The brutal Mindbomb continues!
The narrative is very slow, it's something that won't really change, it depends on each person's taste. It's gratifying to have such well-written characters in crime comics, Cass, Gordon, Selina... incredible characters. And, especially Catwoman, I couldn't even remember the last time she appeared in Tec, so having a character so important to the Batman mythos back in the game is something worth smore
Part three of five in Batman: Outlaw--the biweekly Detective Comics event! Under the scorching Gotham sun, a showdown at high noon will determine who walks away...and who's carried away. Catwoman finds out that someone within her heist crew has been a mole this whole time, feeding information to the Orghams! Who among the team could be the traitor?
Somehow worse than the previous two issues even though those were set-up issues.
The backup story sucks. Stop bringing in Eiko and other garbage from her terrible New 52 run. There is only one Catwoman and it's Selina.

Ram V's Detective Comics run has been a polarizing one, with some praising the writer’s slow-burn, operatic approach and others finding it too meandering and never reaching the climactic heights of past runs. Detective Comics #1078 is likely to not change anyone’s minds with the issue heavily focused on exposition as Catwoman’s plan to save Batman unfolds.

Nine Lives part one. The Catwoman we know has vanished. Selina Kyle is gone. She's no longer Gotham's fugitive--she's its ghost. After the events of The Gotham War, Selina leaves the city a forever-changed woman with a plan: nine deadly missions, each one set aside for their certain lethality--only possible for a cat with nine lives.
Part two of five in Batman: Outlaw-the biweekly Detective Comics event! Hang the Bat! The sun sets on the horizon, casting long shadows of justice as the Batman, under the possession of an Azmer, takes his long walk down to the gallows in front of a hypnotized Gotham, and it's up to the best cat burglar around to save him! But this town may not be ...
This issue proves how DC needs to treat Catwoman better. Selina Kyle is an incredible, complex and indispensable character to the Batman myth. The dynamics, connection and importance they both have for each other is spectacular. (And I'm not just talking about a romantic relationship, but the respect and admiration built over the years.) Well, this was without a doubt the best edition in a long timore

The first entry into the five-issue “Batman: Outlaw” arc starts off with a bang from Ram V and Jason Shawn Alexander. I can’t imagine DC planned it this way, but it was quite a jarring experience reading this issue juxtaposed to Gotham War — Scorched Earth. Where that story failed in plot and character development, this issue succeeded in spades with Ram V’s script being exceptionally wrmore
Batman: Outlaw, the five-part biweekly Detective Comics event, starts here! Batman, now under the control of an Azmer demon, is to be publicly hanged to atone for his crimes! The best issue of Detective in a while. I'd almost forgotten how cool a character Catwoman can be. It's nice to see her written well for a change. And any story by Dan Watters, even if it's a backup, gets my attention. Recommended.
