Good start for the series. I'm a fan of these characters from the Spawn series, and I also read the old series of the two detectives. Now we have a new series, with a realistic drawing and a solid first issue. Detective Sam Burke makes a mistake by not controlling his anger and punching an informant. the boss suspends Sam and also his Twitch partner. Elsewhere, police discover several mutilated bodies in a rural area. A former Twitch colleague calls him for help. he needs Detective Max Williams, aka Twitch, as he has a reputation for being very smart. He needs Twitch to help him with the case of the murders. Sam and Twitch's friendship relationship is in a bad moment, I hope that in the next issues they will reconcile. In issue 2, the investigation of the mystery begins.

I'm really enjoying it. The pace is slow but the story is intriguing, and the best is yet to come. The second arc will be written by another writer, and will be drawn by another artist. you can see some drawings of the new arch on illustrator Thomas Knacklik's Instagram. I hope Sam and Twitch reconcile, and I suspect there's some very strange stuff going on in the murder town, maybe a cult or something, and I don't trust the nice cop
