Now I understand what all the hype has been about. The first issue was a bit underwhelming, but is issue 2 the story-telling and characterisation go to another level. I would have given it a perfect 10 but wasn't as blown away by the art as I was by the writing. Page after page of 9 panel layout isn't very dynamic, has a deadening effect on the eye. |

Roy Thomas foresee global warming! Love the dramatic cover. I also liked how Silver Age comics made concepts like time travel and parallel universes so simple to grasp (unlike later ages where the mental gymnastics sometimes required to follow what's happening spoil all the fun). |
