Highly recommended. A “mature” comic without the label. Buy it, then tell your friends immediately. |

This is a fun read. It's not YEAR ONE, LONG HALLOWEEN or DARK KNIGHT RETURNS good, but if you are looking for superior superhero entertainment with great visuals, this is as good a place as any to start. |

Batman (2016) #41 |

The Dark Knight is back to his best in the best book that DC is currently putting out. King has steadied the ship, and as we race toward issue 50, things are surely going to get more interesting in Gotham. Highly recommended. |

Throw in Selina Kyle, John Constantine and some beautiful Mikel Janin art and you have yet another strong issue. We are nearing the final 30 issues or two years of Tom Kings time with Batman, and as we enter the last third of the run, answers are coming, and I cant wait. Highly recommended. |

I cannot let this review wander further, the comic is lean, sparse and tight. Do not go looking for spoilers, the last couple of pages promise much. |

Detective Comics (2016) #951 |
Feb 22, 2017 |
DETECTIVE COMICS is the team book for people who don't like team books. At times reading more like one of the satellite bat-books from the late 90s and early 00s as opposed to a core title, 'Tec is a strong entry in the REBIRTH stable which is very much worth your time. It's by no means a classic bat-book, but there are few more entertaining comics to sit down to with a cold beverage and enjoy. |

This is a very good comic, not yet quintessential but still highly recommended. As ever, open a beer, make a cuppa, turn off the TV and enjoy. Trust me, it's a good ‘un. |

Flash (2016) #17 |
Feb 23, 2017 |
As someone who considers the Mark Waid run to be the pinnacle of superhero comics, it has taken quite some time for me to warm up to the return of Barry Allen and the subsequent comics bearing his name. However, this has been a tremendous arc; action packed and full of nice character moments, and has turned this doubter into a firm believer. FLASH has sped to the top of my pull list, and it should be on yours too. |

If you are a fan of Greg Rucka, intelligently written fantasy or simply want a good comic to enjoy over a cuppa (or perhaps something stronger) this is the comic for you. Greg Rucka is back, and this time it is on his own terms, and you should be on the journey with him. |

Batman (2016) #17 |
Feb 15, 2017 |
If anything, this issue shows that perhaps Finch is not the artist for BATMAN. If this comic is to rise to the heights of THE VISION or SHERIFF OF BABYLON, an artist who really plays to King's strengths should be found. BATMAN is a good comic, flirting with inconsistent bouts of greatness and suffering an identity crisis between being a glossy superhero comic and a unique, authorial take on the Dark Knight Detective |

This is another strong entry in the REBIRTH field for DC, making BATMAN a highly enjoyable, if overly familiar, title. |

Batman (2016) #25 |

Batman #25 is a good read, but it should be a great read. Hell, it should be a must read. But you should still read it. This is an entertaining comic, it just isn't an important comic. And thats a damn shame, as it has all the components to be. Did I tell you that I hate compromises? |
