When it comes to annuals these days they're not usually part of the ongoing story they just exist to get us to buy more comics, ideally an annual should be a jumping on point for new reading to get up to date on what has happen in the past year of the title. But that said this is a solid five star book. Read Full Review

Geeked Out Nation - Jideobi Odunze May 31, 2017

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2017 Annual #1 is one of the most memorable specials BOOM! has released so far. It's not about giving us stories branching off of something ongoing, it's about continuing to prove to us that this run of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers has much more to offer in storytelling that you won't get anywhere else. As far as annuals go you cant get much better than this. The content is varied, the scripting and art strong, and the attention to character pays entertaining and even surprising dividends. Whether you're a fan of the original series or someone just looking to fill the gap between MMPR issues, there's something for everyone here. Read Full Review

We The Nerdy - John Newby Jun 1, 2017

As a whole, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2017 Annual is a very solid product. Each author manages to take existing characters and place them in new situations without any issues, and the different art styles mostly fit the changes. There are a few weaker moments for sure, but these fall by the wayside once you examine the collection as a whole piece. Read Full Review

Don't buy this because you have to. Buy this one because you want to, and, if you're a fan of Power Rangers or even just an art lover who things Zyuranger's aesthetic was sweet, you will want to. Read Full Review

All in all Power Rangers is a great little read for those new to the series and those who have grown up with it. A mix of serious and not so serious stories keeps the comic interesting and certainly left me wanting more. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Jonathan Edwards May 31, 2017

I'm glad I decided to check this annual out. Like I said, I don't think I'll be picking up the main book, but that was never my reason for reading this one. I wanted to see what BOOM! had to offer in terms of good Power Rangers books, and boy do they have their fair share of quality offerings. If you have any interest at all in the Power Rangers, or just kind of superhero stuff in general, I'd recommend checking this one out. Those who haven't been reading prior might not dig the first story as much. But then again, it could very well make someone want to go back and pick up Mighty Morphin Power Rangers from issue #1 (or I think maybe there was a zero issue before that?). Either way, the remaining stories stand well enough on their own to make it an overall worthwhile read. Read Full Review
