There are a few cameos in this issue we see zombie versions of Lady Deathstrike and Electro battling Punisher. In Salvation we see Iron Patriot, Daredevil and maybe Black Widow and an A.I.M lacky.Captain America, Namor and the Human Torch are all seen in a flash back panel as are Giant Man, Hercules and Ironman.

Agent Carter: SHIELD 50th Anniversary #1

Sep 21, 2015

Being a massive fan of the TV show, I was a little taken aback when I saw this issue, however the longer I read it the more I felt like I was reading about the Peggy I love. The bond between Peggy and Sif felt natural. Peggy refusing to join Shield and Fury telling her she would be a great asset or a serious threat was written well. Dum Dum and Peggy integrated perfectly. It's very well written and the art had that retro feel to it.

The art inside is nice with some of the panels of Ash looking exactly like Bruce Campbell, the story is easy enough to follow, they want the book to send all the demons back to hell. Simple. But to be honest you're not reading for the story, it's the over the top kills and Ash's one liners that make this book worth while. Is it keeps this pace it'll keep me coming back.

As a fan of the movies and the to show I'm probably more the target audience than those unaware of the Evil Dead franchise but I truly believe that anyone new reader could pick up the trade for Furious Road and enjoy as much as I have. Sometimes with books the story feels like the writer are trying too hard to be cleaver or creative and original but this feels easy and simple while being cleaver, creative and original. This whole creative team have done an amazing job at bringing a story that's easy to follow, full of action and interesting. This is one of the titles I look forward to the most each month.

Nov 2, 2015

This title needs a new team or the old team or just cancellation. It's not working for me. That could be because it's no longer aimed at me. It's aimed at younger readers that want a happy, cartoony Disney princess Batgirl. Sadly that's not what I want.

This issue was actually a pretty good build up issue. It felt like the start of a horror movie, it had everything you want from horror. I really enjoyed it. The art is great and for the first time in a long while all the characters were likeable. It's gonna be sad when we start to lose them one by one. If I'm being honest I have to say it felt a little like the walking dead. Almost like a prequel until the vampires.

With each panel to make it feel dark and scary. The story itself is very cleaver, the vampires are trying to poison the whole world so that not hung living can survive in it, since the vampires are not alive they would survive while the wolf's died off.American Gothic Press has some very good titles out right now.

It's all good watching drug dealers turn on each other and feed them to rats but that's all you get here.Mikey's home life is tragic and it's sad to see what this young boy had to do to help his family. But I want to see him get his powers already. Imagine reading a batman book that is all about a 12-year-old Bruce Wayne…. Oh wait that's A tv show already, well yeah it's like that. But where Gotham works because we know who Bruce WILL be this is dragging as we don't know this guy.The art does save it somewhat with some gorgeous panels. Meet Mercy, Hells latest reject, she wasn't too good at the whole being in hell thing so Lucifer sent her back to round-up all the souls that have escaped…. Mercy is damn good at her job but she's still got a softer side so when a young girl asks for her help to save her boyfriend Mercy agrees even if it means missing her date. Action and ass kicking ensues. This book was made for me it checks all my boxes… Strong female lead.. Check. Great fight scenes.. Check. Cool supernatural elements.. Check. Beautiful art and an interesting story.. Double check. Top it all off with being a nice compact 5 issue run and you have a winner. It's a teen+ book which means it's not for kids and it's really night. From threatening to see how many hot coals he can fit inside a guy to cutting a guy's face in half. It's violent.

Midnighter (2015) #8

Jan 11, 2016

I've yet to read a bad issue of Midnighter, it's one of my favourite DC titles at the moment. The art is great, the fight panels make every battle look amazing and the stories are always fast paced, action packed and just plain fun.So far he's teamed up with Grayson, kicked so many bells of crap out of countless Multiplexes, had his heart-broken and done it all while flirting and fighting like a sexy trooper.Midnighter is about more than just fighting, he's got friends and lovers all over the world that he meets up with when he need to talk or maybe a little something, something *wink wink*.Calling him gay batman is an insult, he is so much more, he's grown so much in so few issues and that's a testament to the great writers. If you've not already picked up a Midnighter comic this is as good a place as any to start.

How can they stop the combination that is essentially the best of them both. I've not been able to find a flaw with any issue of this one until now and that flaw is simply" It's the last issue.

The art is some of the most gorgeous I've seen, both people and zords are drawn so well. I can't say enough good things about this title and yes that might be the 90's kid in me jumping for joy that I get to read about the best Ranger team of all time, but I have to say this feels like it's written by an actual MMPR fan that knows not only who these kids are but what fans want.

Feb 15, 2017

I can't lie, this title has been one of my favourites each month and this issue is a prime example why. The war of the Rangers looks like it could be its own mini series and the glimpse into what could have happened if Tommy stayed with Rita is fantastic. Seeing Zords from Rangers yet to come and the sad loss of one of the Rangers at Tommy's hands make this one of the best issues in the run. If this series keeps this pace it's going to keep its place in my top five books each month.

When it comes to annuals these days they're not usually part of the ongoing story they just exist to get us to buy more comics, ideally an annual should be a jumping on point for new reading to get up to date on what has happen in the past year of the title. This issue keeps the pacing of the last, it never feels slow from one page to the next. The art is simply gorgeous, it has a beautiful early 40's feel to it. The writing is very well done as both a horror book and more importantly a crime noire. The story is interesting and fun, it feels very easy to read which makes it a joy. This book is far too cute to be this dark. With a cast of characters that look like Funko Pops this should be a happy-go-lucky title of rainbows and lollipops but if I Hate Fairyland has taught us anything it's that cute kids killing things can be awesome. This book feels a lot weirder then I was expecting and it works against it as it feels very random and the writing is choppy and broken, I'm not sure what language it's translated from but it feels like something was lost in translation. The idea is solid, an 8-year-old obsessed with serial killers and enjoys killing people should be hilarious and fun but it feels forced and dull. The art however is simply gorgeous, I cannot fault the art in this book on a single page it's a joy to look at.It's dark and sad in places and just not fun at all. I was looking forward this one after seeing the cover but Sadly this only gets 2 stars from me.

This is a very weird book. I'm guessing it's meant to be. The art is childlike and simple. Bright colours and plain panels make it easy on the eye. Jumping in five issues makes me wonder if I've missed anything of note. Not a lot happened in this issue, so maybe it's a filler issue to the overall story. I'll never know as I don't plan on revisiting this title.

The idea alone is fantastic, to take the loveable, happy and bright characters of J.M Barrie's Classic Peter Pan and transfer them all so fluidly into a real world staging deserves a round of applause, having the lost boys and the Pirates all together without them seeming forced or silly took an amazing eye for creativity and storytelling.

As a new title I'm sure I would have really enjoyed it, but being called Puppet master my expectations where too high going in. I wasn't too sure going into this one as it seems like a bit of a daft idea, but as I read on it was actually pretty good, it's written well with Jason being a likable loner that just wants to love her while Wendy doesn't seem to want that now that she's gotten her new body. The art is simple but very well done with smooth lines and soft colours, the facial expressions are some of the best and I really like this smooth look in a book. Although the book starts with the possession of an innocent woman's body The book takes a darker turn when Wendy is threatened with exposure and the next issue will show how far Jason will go for her. I enjoy a good thriller/Horror title and this one is better than expected, dark and creepy while having emotion and humour make this a great all round book so it gets 4 stars from me.

Passing over her warning as nothing more than the ravings of a grieving woman.
