Queen Cloudia is forced to bend the rules of Fairyland in hopes to rid their world of Gert once and for all.
MAJOR PLOT POINT
Gert will face her greatest foe yet, another human child named... Happy. Will she survive the power of true joy? Spoiler: This time, I'm not sure. We'll see how it goes.
This remains one of my favourite book out right now. It's funny and it's dark and it so original. The art is flawless and the character of Gert is done so well you not only feel sorry for her but you also kinda hate her a little too. This is easily a must have book. If you don't have it, get it. As I said at the beginning, I Hate Fairyland has been a quality book so far, and one of its strengths has been that there have been the plethora of new yet familiar things that Skottie Young has thrown at us. To be honest, there are so many fairy tales out therethat can be subverted in I Hate Fairyland that I think were allgoing to be entertained for some time to come. Read Full Review
Ah hell, Im gonna trifecta this comic and give it another 9.5. It put me in an insanely good mood. Read Full Review
I Hate Fairyland is an amazing series so far. I have no idea where Young is going to take it from here, though. With the loss of Gertrude, I’m not too certain of anything in the series anymore! Is Happy going to take her place? Is Gertrude going to come back to life? Is there even a key at all? One thing is for sure: with each issue, we’ve seen new parts of Fairyland, and with each subsequent issue, we will continue to do so. Young has created a new, unique, oxymoronic universe for us to delve into, and I can’t get enough! Read Full Review
This title is back on track and fun as hell. The art continues to be extremely strong, vivid and disturbing and the plot has gotten a whole lot more interesting. Read Full Review
Still, I don't hate I Hate Fairyland #3, and it continues the series' roll as one of my most surprisingly enjoyable reads this year (SPOILER: It even made my Comic Bastards year-end list). If Young and company can keep the pace and those jokes fresh, then like Gertrude, this book will never get old for me. Read Full Review
Skottie Young... you truly terrify me and entice me at the same time. The imagery is truly disturbing but I also can't look away. Watching Gert in pain make me flinch, just seeing a child black and blue. At the same time you can see how old she is. How much she misses her mom and dad, how her life just changed. Also the new child? Kill her...just end her. She just pissed me off, I mean if you go at my fav character you will die.
It's a really fun and enjoyable book, but the writing is a bit too lighthearted for my taste and a bit too silly. But I will try to get my 17-year old to read it. Hopefully he will get hooked
Gert is unconscious for half the comic and it's still excellent!
