The art is some of the most gorgeous I've seen, both people and zords are drawn so well. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are just an iconic brand that unless you have been living under a rock or just born people are familiar with and you have to stay true to what the show was all about and the both Kyle and Hendry have done a nice job with keeping it real with the original show, but making the characters a bit more modern. This issue had action and cool fight scenes, but it's mired by the "Rita Repulsa is in Tommy Oliver's head" stuff. We need to have a better reason for Tommy to be an outsider if that's where we're heading with this story, because the Rita thing isn't working, in my opinion. The art is wonderful, and the writing has improved quite a bit; I'm judging it less based on my fandom for the 90's show, I promise. I've accepted that it's meant to stand on its own, and I've accepted that. One thing that particularly stands out from this series so far is the writing. Being based around high school age students, they are smart and never written as a stereo-type. The typical teenage stuff is there, but its not overwritten to the point of annoying. That is what I like; its fun, takes itself seriously but not too serious, and is an overall fun ride so far.
