Scorpina goes for Tommy where it hurts the most. Rita won't give up on her Green Ranger that easily. With Tommy's life hanging in the balance, the Rangers must get together to save their friend, or risk losing him forever.
Overall Higgins provides us with answers and actions we never thought possible in this property, which was once easily dismissed as a children's series. New Readers and fans of the original series will leave this book realizing that 2016 is the year of the Power Rangers in comics, the way 1993 was for television. Read Full Review
The art is some of the most gorgeous I've seen, both people and zords are drawn so well. I can't say enough good things about this title and yes that might be the 90's kid in me jumping for joy that I get to read about the best Ranger team of all time, but I have to say this feels like it's written by an actual MMPR fan that knows not only who these kids are but what fans want. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are just an iconic brand that unless you have been living under a rock or just born people are familiar with and you have to stay true to what the show was all about and the both Kyle and Hendry have done a nice job with keeping it real with the original show, but making the characters a bit more modern. I have really enjoyed the series so far even though we are only on issue number two. I would highly recommend you all go out and purchase yourself a copy today! Read Full Review
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers #2 is a strong issue, delivering great characterization for the cast and both referencing/adding to the source material with keen insight. While I don't necessarily think this series will work for nonfans as much, there's plenty here for fans to really enjoy. Read Full Review
Once again, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #2 continues the fun of its predecessors. Kyle Higgins has crafted an interesting story, and Hendry Prasetya has added in the beautiful art to enhance the experience. Sure, there are a few moments that aren't amazing, but the overall experience is fantastic. Read Full Review
This issue encapsulates pretty much everything I want from this Power Rangers comic. I hope they can continue this style and really dig into these characters. Read Full Review
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #2 was yet another amazing entry in the series, with the creative team continuing to do an excellent job of reviving this beloved show. They would also give us some gripping action, and along with the tension between Tommy and his fellow Rangers, there was certainly plenty to keep readers occupied. Read Full Review
This issue had action and cool fight scenes, but it's mired by the "Rita Repulsa is in Tommy Oliver's head" stuff. We need to have a better reason for Tommy to be an outsider if that's where we're heading with this story, because the Rita thing isn't working, in my opinion. The art is wonderful, and the writing has improved quite a bit; I'm judging it less based on my fandom for the 90's show, I promise. I've accepted that it's meant to stand on its own, and I've accepted that. There's some vast potential in the series, you see so much of it in this issue, and hopefully in the next one we'll see more. Read Full Review
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #2 continues the series with promise of the same things you look forward to a comic like this delivering being an adaptation from another medium. If you like licensed titles, this one should be on your pull-list. Read Full Review

The book is a fun nostalgia trip with killer art and pace, providing an enjoyable read. Has me hooked for #3 to see what Rita is willing to do next, plus can Bulk and Skull catch that Putty without Trini and Kim seeing? A great read for Power Rangers fans of all ages. Read Full Review

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS continues to improve on its strong foundation this issue, providing well-done action sequences combined with great character moments. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #2 continues the series' hot start, combining layered character play with engaging Ranger action. The lulls of the book's main narrative are offset by its great fan service, Kyle Higgins and Hendry Prasetya again doing a fine job in creating a Ranger tale for generations new and old. With a budding character dynamic and some great art, Boom! Studios continues to do the Rangers justice. Read Full Review
One thing that particularly stands out from this series so far is the writing. Being based around high school age students, they are smart and never written as a stereo-type. The typical teenage stuff is there, but its not overwritten to the point of annoying. That is what I like; its fun, takes itself seriously but not too serious, and is an overall fun ride so far. All told, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" does plenty of justice to its much-loved, much-meme'd source material. Though the main plotline still isn't moving smoothly, this issue nails its small moments and big battles. For now, that's more than enough to entertain. Read Full Review
An interesting take on the original Power Rangers with a great deal of potential. Read Full Review
This issue builds on Tommy's distance from the other rangers, and even does a really good job showcasing Billy feeling like the "odd man out" on a team of karate and gymnastic champions. I love the art and the modern feel for this story, I just don't understand how Rita is speaking to Tommy or if it is some sort of mental break he is having. The backup story is as ridiculous as it sounds- Bulk and Skull kidnap a putty, create fake ranger suits and are going to beat up their captive baddie in front of Kimberly and Trini to curry favor with them. I love Power Rangers, and they are still a big part of my life as a parent- today my son gifted me (put that in air quotes- “gifted”) a book that he reads each night before bed and the Red Rangermore
