    Graphic Policy - Brett Jan 3, 2024

Pine & Merrimac #1 is a fine start. It doesn't deviate too much from the detective formula and entertains enough with its characters. Overall, it's one that feels like it might be better read as a whole than the individual issues as they're released. Pine & Merrimac #1 entertains but it doesn't quite excite. Read Full Review

Though I'm not a fan of the art, the characters' setup and relationship are exemplary. This is coming from an award-winning screenwriter. I was very pleased with the pace and economical use of panels. I'm looking forward to where the story goes. I am quite surprised that they used the last name of Kent considering how iconic that name is in comics.
