Overall, I enjoyed this issue, and adding more characters to the conflict with Nocturna piques my interest in a storyline I was feeling lukewarm about before. I'm also excited to see what role Sophie will play in Kate's life in the future. Because Sophie is an army colonel, I hope we get a chance to see her tangle with Gotham's criminal element and cross paths with Batwoman. Let's see what happens next issue! Read Full Review

Batwoman #32 continues an era that remains engrossing as this team gets to strut their narrative legs. There's a lot of worth as far as the plot goes, so if you're a fan or not this might just be a New 52 book for you. Recommended. Read Full Review

Batwoman #32 is a decent start to this new arc with good characters and interesting storylines. Its only faults lie in the fact that it is slow and decompressed in areas, along with one storyline being a bit clichd. Hopefully, the rest of the arc can make up for that as time goes on. Overall this was a great issue. Nocturna and Night-Thief are wonderful additions to Kates rogues gallery and provide plenty of action in this issue. The action is balanced out with a couple slower sequences and even includes a little drama for Kate's love life. Batwoman continues to be one of the better Batman related series of the New 52 and this issue is no exception. I would definitely recommend picking this issue up. Read Full Review

Batwoman has not one but two women entering her life that may cause some problems or changes in her immediate future. Its interesting to see how Andreyko is developing story points for both Kate and Batwoman rather than have a focus simply on one guise. Jeremy Hauns art fits the mood as well as he has to juggle between two different tones. But it's Kate's civilian struggles that are the focus in this opening chapter. Andreyko's decision to pull Maggie out of Gotham and force her to deal with a heated child custody battle is definitely an interesting wrinkle in her relationship with Kate. As such, I found it a little disappointing that Andreyko also chooses to introduce an old flame of Kate's from her military academy days. It's a pretty stereotypical development for an engagement to be tested by the sudden appearance of an ex-lover. Still, this new character does have potential as far as bringing Kate's military background into the forefront for a while. Hopefully this arc justifies her inclusion. Read Full Review

I enjoyed this issue quite a bit! I know the tone of the review may not come across as me being overly enthusiastic, but I promise you, I enjoyed this issue. As I stated previously, I feel that Nocturna is the perfect rogue for Batwoman, and this issue really kicks off the new arc with clarity, action, and a strong pace. It's a great foundation for Andreyko to build upon, and I'm crossing my fingers that he slowly layers in subplots and twists each issue, as he did with the previous arc. Andreyko is definitely introducing some nice complications, but there doesn't seem to be any magic to them, no spark. I'm not sure what it is that isn't clicking for me, but it's not there yet. I want to like Batwoman"but I just don't know right now. Read Full Review
