With Crush & Lobo #2, Mariko Tamaki gives minimal character work through flashbacks while telling a snails paced story filled with non-funny cringe.  Crush is an endearing and complex character, but unfortunatley, you wouldn't know it from reading this book, which seems to want her to be Deadpool with Daddy Issues. I still find myself liking Crush's quirky nature, like there are parts she doesn't know about herself and letting herself go to enjoy herself without consequence. Plus there's how it got her to her girlfriend and the tragedy of their breakup. But I am a little annoyed that relationship is going to be spread out to the point of not feeling it that much. Gotta love the slapstick action sequences of how Crush deals with her opponents too. The absurd situations she finds herself in is too good to resist. Makes me wait in anticipation on how her interactions with Lobo are going to go down.

This is a solid, breezy issue. I still feel like Crush is gonna start getting annoying with that narration, but it hasn't happened yet.

I mean its not bad, it is just weird. Crush and that grown woman was a bit weird. But the art isnt bad which I'm not complaining.

This is cute. And Crush, at least in Teen Titans, wasn't cute. The character here is okay, but not Crush.
