Comic Vine - Sara 'Babs' Lima Oct 5, 2011

This issue is a lot of fun and puts Helena in the spotlight in her very own series. She's interesting, exciting and a really strong woman. This book is extremely accessible to new readers; so if you know nothing about the Huntress and want to pick this up, do it! You won't be disappointed. Lastly, Marcus To knocks it out of the park, again! Read Full Review

Overall, this was pretty good, and I look forward to seeing where it goes. I do like Huntress, I just personally wish she was back with the old Birds of Prey. Read Full Review

Major Spoilers - Stephen Schleicher Oct 13, 2011

While the Birds of Prey have been scattered to the four winds, having stories featuring the characters individually is better than nothing. Huntress #1 is a perfect blend of action and story telling that would be a great lead in to further adventures of the hero. While I don't think DC will turn this into an ongoing series, the team has done a great job of making me want more. Huntress #1 is worth picking up and reading and earns 4 out of 5 Stars. It's not revelatory by any means, but Huntress #1 was a nice surprise that is hopefully a sign of things to come for some of DC's more beloved female heroes. Read Full Review

    CHUD - Jeb Delia Oct 7, 2011

It may be that DC is using this as an introduction to their planned “Earth 2″ diversion with the forthcoming JSA series, or it may be just a 6-issue mob/espionage/action story, either way it's off to a good start, and definitely worth coming back for more. Read Full Review

    iFanboy - Paul Montgomery Oct 6, 2011

With five issues remaining in the mini, there's also plenty of space to explore the events that led to Helena's outlook, but even if that's left off the table I'm very interested in going along for the ride. The verdict's still out on the anatomical possibility of a certain kick, but otherwise Marcus To offers some wonderful pencils, skipping no beats between action sequences and Roman holiday aesthetics. Perhaps most importantly, scenes involving nighties and smuggled prostitutes never traipse into inappropriate cheesecake territory. Read Full Review

    Razorfine - Alan Rapp Oct 10, 2011

Either way, its a good introductory issue. Artist Marcus To provides several strong panels even without having a major league baddie to put our heroine up against in the first issue. He also gets points for dumping the most ridiculous part of the Huntress' costume (the often maligned ab window). Worth a look. Read Full Review

This is a good beginning for Huntress. It is a simple story of heroes being heroes and their long struggle against crime and the forces of evil. Read Full Review

I like the character and I plan to pick up this book. I'm not sure how interested someone who is indifferent to the creators or the character would be to this book though. It seems like this series is going to bring a nice layered plot set a slightly less intense atmosphere as Batman which I can get into. I think this book is a worth a look. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Kelly Thompson Oct 6, 2011

Overall this is a the beginning of a solid mini-series with an underused character full of potential. It's better than most of the new DCU 52 books I read. It makes one wish that this book was going to keep going instead of being relegated to a mini-series. Regardless, if you like strong well-rounded female characters, support this book so we can see more like it. Read Full Review
