Questions of the difference between hero and villainy continue to be explored with monsters of all sorts. Above all, every character in the series seems really, really interesting in ways that one might not entirely expect. Even Harley is given and interesting and novel new life. This is quite an accomplishment, given all of the different angles that she has been given over the years. Wilson, Takara, and Prianto continue to develop something truly distinct and distinctive that feels quite unlike anything else on the comics rack right now. Very, very impressive stuff that doesnt seem to be slowing down or fading in the least. Read Full Review
Poison Ivy #14 brings the fan-favorite series back to form while taking the eco-horror character-rich thread that runs through everything in a different direction. A perfect place for new readers to throw themselves into the mix and ride this beautiful train as far as they can. One of the best series that DC Comics is publishing. Read Full Review
POISON IVY #14 advances the newest storylines that started developing once Ivy returned to Gotham. Setting Ivy up in an investigative role rather than the direct advancement of the story is a compelling new angle. But most interesting is Wilsons advancement of the series characters, something that will continue to keep the series fresh. Read Full Review
It's interesting how this series started out as a much darker take on Ivy than we've seen in a while, but since it seems to have found its footing and is giving the character a fascinating new chapter with some darkly mysterious twists. Read Full Review
More. I need so much more from this series because it's giving me things I didn't even know I wanted. G. Willow Wilson has taken one of my favourite characters and made her even more beloved. Also I feel like if we don't get a Janet from HR spin-off, we will have been robbed of something truly spectacular. Hear me out DC! Read Full Review
Poison Ivy is one of the most consistently good series at DC Comics, with issue #14 continuing that trend. There's a good balance of characters, and it's nice to see Ivy in Gotham and all that comes with it. Read Full Review
As Poison Ivy goes, this issue is just pretty okaywhich is still high praisebut coming off of "Knight Terrors," it has a little bit of table setting to do to reestablish what had been going on prior to the event and while that's not the most exciting, this issue does it serviceably. I am a really big fan of Marcio Tanaka, and I really enjoyed the art throughout. I think his style lends very well to the Poison Ivy aesthetic and the trippy style. The flowers on both faces are gorgeous as well. Jessica Fong may have him beat this time around though, her cover is one of the best that I have seen recently, and that includes all the amazing Knight Terror art we have been getting. There are also a slew of variant covers as well, all top notch! Read Full Review
The rollercoaster of quality in this book continues. Issue 14 is more middle of the road. Ivy's been proving she can hold up a solo book pretty well, but bad side characters and subplots are bringing this book down. Read Full Review
GOD I LOVE THIS BOOK!
I'm just her for my monthly dose of gay girls
This was a good issue that lays the foundation for an interesting mystery for Ivy. As for Janet and Harley, I'm not really sure how to feel about this. I'm not going to say much about the end of it until we get some follow-up, but I did enjoy Janet trying to get the job at Undine and her interaction with Batman. I'm interested to see where things go with the them two and Ivy as this series continues. As for the art, If you read the end of my review for the previous issue, you can probably assume I'm happy to have Takara going ALL of it for this issue. I've really enjoyed the feel he brings to this book with his art and I hope he stays on this book for a while.
