Starfire takes the first spotlight in the return of the classic feeling ‘Tales Of The Titans' series, giving us a deep bold look at the character and where she fits the current version of their team. Everything about this series feels like being wrapped in a warm, comforting, but also powerful blanket. As the kids today say, the creative team very much understood the assignment. Read Full Review

DCs set up these series of one-shots to give an inner look at DCs biggest team, and its a breath of fresh air to see them in situations where they can be who they always were, prior to the decades of trauma thats been inflicted upon them. Shannon and Dean Hale get Kory, get who she is, and have an interesting backstory for her. Add in the beauty that is Javier Rodriguezs art, and you have a killer combination. Read Full Review

Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield Jul 18, 2023

This is a small issue, but something I really liked here was the positive relationship it gave Kory and Barbara in some small scenes. This first issue makes me think this mini will be a must-read for any Titans fan. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez Jul 21, 2023

Tales of the Titans #1 accomplishes everything you can ask for from a spotlight of Starfire. Shannon and Dean Hale and Javier Rodriguez maximize the time given to tell a wonderful story that highlights what makes Starfire a great character. Both as a Titan and solo hero there is a lot of great moments throughout this one-shot. An excellent way to kick off the Tales of the Titans series. Read Full Review

Dark Knight News - James Attias Jul 21, 2023

Tales of the Titans #1 was a great start to this 4 part mini series, showing the individual adventures of the team. I can't wait for issue 2. Raven's past returns to haunt her? That's hardly new, but is always great. Read Full Review

You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff Jul 24, 2023

The Hales do little to advance the personal growth of Starfire. However, the one-shot in question does continue to explore the general appeal of a character that has never really been given the right venue for her distinct power and personality. The story present in the first issue of this new series is fun, but it's too much of an echo of what's come before it to make much of an impact in and of itself. The concerns of Starfires family are entertaining enough, but theyve been solidly explored before.  Read Full Review

Weird Science - Gabe Hernandez Jul 18, 2023

Tales of the Titans #1 takes a nice, safe look at Starfire as she wrestles with being "too emotional" for her friends and people. The adventure and its lessons about being in touch with your feelings are best suited for young readers, and the drama-less art keeps the action and seriousness to a minimum. Read Full Review
