Early-warning sign you're about to get murdered: a mysterious, cursed ledger
directs you to a small, eerie town filled with an unusual amount of amputees who all take a keen interest in you. That's what the cursed Joe and his sister Annie are up against when their ledger leads them to a town where strangers check in, but they don't check out.
The Curse of Brimstone #7 spent more time pushing us into that area where it is now becoming a race against time to put a stop to this madness before it consumes Joe and Annie. Despite the opening fight scenes, this was a story about introducing new characters and arranging chess pieces for the next chapter of the story. I think it can be a difficult process, but Eduardo Pansica and Justin Jordan do a nice job of using suspense to pull it off in this issue. But, now that we have established that the new players are making big moves I would love to learn more about their motivations and how this will come to impact the story of Joe and Annie. The Curse of Brimstone #7 continues with another excellent issue. After taking down another of the Salesman's pawns. Joe and Annie continue their journey and discover another small town under his influence. The story direction should be getting old but the scenarios keep getting darker and more interesting as the series progresses. It's a real shame that the series has been canceled.
In this issue, the town looks pristine from the outset but upon closer inspection, it's clear that something is terribly wrong as all of the inhabitants are missing limbs.
