Unstoppable Doom Patrol #5 is another suitably odd issue with Robotman and Elasti-Girl on the ground delivering up the action and knocking more than a few heads, while Niles Caulder, the new Chief and others come face to face with the CEO of Metagen Corporation. Read Full Review
Unstoppable Doom Patrol #5 is a really great distillation of what this whole series has been about; overcoming your past and pushing forward. This issue made Niles Caulder face his demons, but the whole series feels like it's been about addressing trauma and past mistakes, while also helping as many metahumans as possible. It's a positive, and relatable, message for people of this generation. Your past doesn't define you. Read Full Review

Unstoppable Doom Patrol #5 is an excellent distillation of what makes this series unique and so enjoyable. This creative team are all on the same page in regards to the profound subtext, keeping this series as relevant as it is a pure joy to read. Read Full Review
Unstoppable Doom Patrol #5 combines action, character development, and a strong narrative thread. The mishandling of Caulder's research and past errors drives the story's climax, leading to Metagen's downfall and the Doom Patrol's triumph. The creative team's skillful execution ensures that this installment stands out as a pivotal moment in the series. Read Full Review
Burnham was a great choice for this title thanks to his comfort with both routine character interactions and disturbing sci-fi visuals, but this book's other big strength is Culver's ability to convey that this book isn't just about a superhero teamit's about a big, messy dysfunctional family with as many issues as good memories. That's the core of the Doom Patrol, and this more superheroic take on the characters never loses sight of that. Read Full Review
Unstoppable Doom Patrol #5 is an outstanding action issue that provides readers plenty of reasons to return for whatever new chaos is set to arrive next month. Read Full Review
The background conflict comes to the forefront, and it mutes some of the best/wildest parts of this new Doom Patrol. The art is still great though. Read Full Review
Unstoppable Doom Patrol #5 takes the mini-series about nothing (so far) and actually delivers a decent story to show the team in action, inform readers about Dr. Culver's history, and set up a villainous organization that could spell trouble in the future. This isn't the most impressive superhero one-shot you'll ever read. In fact, it's just okay, but at least Culver is finally providing the mini-series a direction. Read Full Review
Great issue with a mix of emotions. Nice to see Niles back in the spotlight... and I think the DC version of Elon is the head bad guy?? I got a chuckle out of the entire situation. Quite bizarre, but sort of sad with Metawoman, but filled with laughs most of the way though. The first several issues did world building, and now we finally get the strands of plots and subplots combining to move us forward. I look forward to the rest of this mini-series.
Another fantastic issue.
God I love the Doom Patrol.
