This new, visually stunning, and all-star-packed celebration of Wonder Woman continues! Some of comics’ greatest storytellers present five beautifully bombastic tales that take Diana all over the DC Universe. First stop…the very depths of hell! Both friend and foe come along for the ride of a lifetime with guest appearances by Steve Trevor, Nubia, and the First Born. The issue concludes with a journey to a place never seen before-Wonder Woman’s dreams-as the celebration of her 80th anniversary continues!
This playground has been great for both Batman and Superman, and seems like it will do wonders (pun intended) for this Amazonian Princess. I appreciate that DC is providing more insight into these characters for authors and artists alike. Read Full Review
With two issues completed, its a bit of a disappointment that there are only four more left to go in what has proven to be a really, really appealing anthology. The variety of art and story styles open up a really refreshing spectrum of different perspectives on Diana and her life and struggles. Wonder Woman is celebrating 80 years on the comics page. With well over 1000 stories already on the page for the hero, its nice to see that there are still so many possibilities for a character created by Marston and Peter so long ago. Read Full Review
There are some stories here that are slightly better than others, but each offers a unique story and art for Wonder Woman and is most assuredly a perfect grab for fans of Themyscira's wayward daughter. Read Full Review
Five great stories, but it's the two cartoonists who really win the day here. Read Full Review
"Without Love" - I liked it well enough, cool to see Strife back. Felt this story could have been a longer actually but shows Tamaki could have a good run if her run wasn't the Max Lord book. Makes the best use of the limited color palette of the series.
"The God With No Name" - Reads like it's trying to fuse New 52 WW with more classic WW with an alternate take on The First Born and Diana confronting one another. "The God With No Name" is also an infinitely better name than "The First Born".
"Homecoming" - I've never been one for dream stories so this didn't do much for me as a story but some very nice art
"A Common Motivator" - My favorite of the bunch. Fun competition story with Diana and Nubia. Artemis more
Truly captures the epic nature of Wonder Woman and her exploits. Not only that but a reflection of her character. Even my least favorite part has her as a force of trying to find common ground with an enemy.
I don't really like anthologies and none of these stories were spectacular.
These stories are all bad and no, Superman is not an arrogant, muscle-bound thug.
