Zatanna #4 feels as though everything has been built and the pressure cooker is ready to explode so to speak. Jamal has brought her to her weakest point and is now bringing her to face a difficult choice and I cannot wait to see this story explode with magic and Zatanna not hold back. I implore everyone not to continue to sleep on this run as it has been one of DC's strongest in their latest new series! Read Full Review

There's a great horror vibe to some of the scenes here, but at the same time there's a very intriguing mystery that might just center around Zatanna's mother and the stories she told her daughter. Compared to Zatanna's father, we know extremely little about her, and this story could be the chance to fix that. And above all, it's just incredible how good this one-man comic looks. Start off with the good:

Zatanna messing with Fuseli was kind of fun and a nice tie in to previous interactions.

    Art is perfect once again.

Good fight scenes. It is really nice to see Zatanna really duke it out and her creative use of magic. The pages of with the fights are both fun to read and look at.

    The odd:

Her crews pep talk felt off. Like Campbell needs to hear better pep talks, and their personalities seem kind of weird with Zatanna. It doesnt exactly feel like the types of personalities she would be working around normally.

The story still has so many plot points to fill in Who is the Lady in White and why does she act subserviant to Brother Night? Also what spell i more

I'm not sure what everyone else is reading, but the only thing I can see that warrants those kind of review scores is the art. The art remains great, but the story is a jumbled mess that makes very little sense. Some artists should not write and, unfortunately, he's one of them. I'm going to finish out the series, but I probably won't pick another series he writes.
