It's really as good as a first issue can be. Really had me invested and left me wanting more.
There is a lot to like about this story and it was definitely chilling. There are some themes or imagery that I find myself thinking back on days later. In my opinion that is the sign of a great story. This will no doubt be a very compelling series that I and many others will enjoy.
The only aspect that gives me pause are a few minor details that tend to break the spell and pull me out of a story. I am all for suspending disbelief, but I am pretty sure all officers go on mandatory leave after discharging a firearm.
