I'm hooked on Dark Spaces: Dungeon #1 with a payoff in the form of a bonafide dungeon. There's a grim vibe to Dungeon that grabs hold of you and doesn't let go. In some respects, this feels like the best of Clive Barker and Saw melded into one. Read Full Review

The final pages see the stakes raised significantly for Tyler and his family, and ensures that any reader picking up issue one is all but guaranteed to want to pick up issue two. A character-focused thriller that taps into some stomach-churningly primal fears, this is a series you owe it to yourself to check out. Snyder and Sherman are a match made in creative heaven, and the Dark Spaces anthology continues to deliver banger after banger. Highly, highly recommended. Read Full Review

Dark Spaces: Dungeon #1 arrives just in time for Halloween, the spookiest time of the year. Scott Snyder and Hayden Sherman have created another engaging and thrilling installment to the Dark Spaces anthology. If horror fans are going to pick one book up this month, Dark Spaces: Dungeon #1 is the perfect choice, though it would be equally as terrifying and engaging any time of the year. Read Full Review

There is a lot to like about this story and it was definitely chilling. There are some themes or imagery that I find myself thinking back on days later. In my opinion that is the sign of a great story. This will no doubt be a very compelling series that I and many others will enjoy. The only aspect that gives me pause are a few minor details that tend to break the spell and pull me out of a story. I am all for suspending disbelief, but I am pretty sure all officers go on mandatory leave after discharging a firearm.
