This issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles delivers on a number of levels, but its greatest strength is that it is fun. The climax focusing so much on surprise and the light-hearted Michelangelo really made this fun read. This issue shows the reader what a great read is all about. It has an important script that is accompanied by top class artwork. I am sure many thought that City Fall was as good as this title will ever get, but believe me you are wrong. The Northampton arc not only shows us that this series is more than an action comic, it also shows us that the future of this series is in good, if not great hands. All in all this comic is a must. For both current readers and new readers alike. I can't stress enough how awesome the comic is. The art is stunning and the story makes you keep reading from page one and wanting to read more. Visually, Ross Campbell and Ronda Pattison are top notch. Campbells turtles, with their well rounded, weightiness feel genuine and life-like. Characters facial expressions convey emotion and power and are wonderful accents to the body language on stage during the action scenes. His character designs for Koya, the assassins and even Aprils new haircut are all visually pleasing as well as properly thought-out. Campbells pencils and inks bring the Turtles to life but it is Ronda Pattisons colors that make them sing. Her solid, bold colors on top of earth toned backgrounds make each panel pop off the page. On the writing front, Waltz properly caps off this arc after four issues, bringing the characters full circle and sending them on the next stage of their journey. Both Leonardo and Alopex have pivotal moments in this issue, for better or for worse. This arc has definitely gone a long way toward endearing me to Alopex, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor, misunderstood warrior and her struggle to find a family. This issue actually hits a bit of a false note in terms of where it leaves her relationship with the Turtles, but hopefully Waltz can rectify that in a future issue. We thought this arc was giving us a chance to catch our collective breath after an explosive event, but it turns out the first few issues were just the quiet before the storm.
