Crave #1 has the feel of a great A24 horror film like Midsommar or Bodies Bodies Bodies, with a high concept (in this case involving the internet and apps), interesting characters and a heavy atmosphere and feeling of dread throughout. You feel something seriously malevolent is going to happen and every panel seems filled with omens of things to come. Highly recommended. Read Full Review

Its a gorgeous looking book that doesnt have a lot of new things to say, but it handles high school drama well and has some absolutely gorgeous art. Read Full Review
Crave is an intriguing start to a series that toys with a new technology that takes dating and sex to a darker place. There's something deeper going on, and while it's unclear where Llovet is going with that, she's done an exceptional job setting up her characters. Read Full Review

Crave #1 delivers an idea I want to come back more for but with the debut, I'm not sure how much it'll explore its relevant idea. It nails the issues with social media and technology head on, bluntly in some ways. Now a question is out there as to what it might do with it beyond getting characters laid. Read Full Review
Crave #1 presents itself as if it has something interesting to say about desire, social media, trauma, wealth, and relationships but is ultimately a pretty shallow read. Read Full Review
Very intriguing start
A comic about a dating app that basically hooks you up with whomever you’re interested in, so it’s pure science fiction. Maybe they should have put this on a spaceship instead of a college, might’ve worked better. You’re probably hooked in by the chick with the nipple tape on the cover but just like any dating app once you match and open the book to what’s inside Ms. Tape, you realize you’re dealing with an absolute disaster.
