GI Joe 27 keeps the fun rolling in one of comic’s best reads. The Joes and Night Force are getting on the same page, but it might be too late to stop Zartan from getting a major win. Read Full Review

Zartan’s schemes continue to tear apart G.I. Joe from the inside as “Night Force” goes forward! Williamson keeps up an extremely high pace as events play out. Reilly and the team continue to impress at every stage of the art. There’s few series even coming close to this level of storytelling. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

G.I. Joe #27 does a good job at progressing the “Night Force” story arc at a natural pace. The middle chapter of a story arc is always in a tough spot to get us to transition to the final phase of the story. Joshua Williamson and Tom Reilly knew exactly the buttons they needed to make in order to keep the interest in Baroness status quo and G.I. Joe vs Night Force as high as possible. The added layers as each character makes a decision that could prove to be what turns the story to the favor of one side over the other when all is said and done. Read Full Review

Comic Book Clique - Frank Jarome

    Oct 24, 2026

G.I. Joe #27 is another strong issue in the “Night Force” storyline, as the Joes get captured, Zartan gets more desperate, and Night Force starts to ask more questions. Meanwhile, Baroness makes steps toward proving her innocence. Even though it’s a slower issue, it’s not by any means slow, and all of our players are moving towards an explosive collision in the final issues of this story arc. Read Full Review

    Comical Opinions - Gabriel Hernandez

    Oct 21, 2026

G.I. Joe #27 takes a slow break from the action as Zartan manipulates the situation to pit Joe against Joe and steal a secret stash of Energon. Williamson’s talk-heavy script is tense and informative but poorly paced. Also, Tom Reilly’s art is good enough to keep readers engaged with almost no action. Read Full Review
