May 06, 2026The Rosenberg brothers weren’t on my radar prior, but after reading this, they certainly are now. They crafted something that’s exemplary of life and the human experience. In everything from the writing to the artwork, “If Destruction Be Our Lot” is a masterpiece. It’s arguably one of the best comics to come out this year and I’m undoubtedly having this be my pick of the week. Read Full Review

May 06, 2026If Destruction Be Our Lot has a great premise. A robot Abe Lincoln stumbling upon a massive conspiracy. But it’s way more than just a wacky setup. The creative team has crafted a truly human story about curiosity, breaking from social patterns that bind us, and searching for inner fulfillment. I don’t think everyone’s going to like this book, but I think that there is something really special about this title, and for those who give this one a chance, I think you’ll see what I’m talking about. You Don't Read Comics - Russ Bickerstaff
May 06, 2026Back in 1962, Philip K. Dick wrote a novel involving an android simulation of Abraham Lincoln. It was first serialized as A. Lincoln Simulacrum in 1969 in Amazing Stories magazine and later collected as the novel We Can Build You. Further back in 1950, Ray Bradbury published the short story “There Will Come Soft Rains.” It was set in August of 2026 after a nuclear catastrophe. An automated house continues its duties for people who will never return. The Rosenberg’s new series feels like a charming fusion of the two premises that shows a lot of promise. Read Full Review

The Rosenberg brother are becoming THE new superstar duo for years to come. You can tell Image comics is giving the room to do their own thing, build their own universe. And rightfully so.
This series isn't a batman story and it takes his time to illustrate the perfect setup for this series. After issue #1 you can already picture what kind of world we're reading into and you can tell by all the details, this is going to be a fun ride.+ Like • Comment -

It's a big of a longer read for a single issue, but definitely worth it for only being $4.99. I did really enjoy this, as I'm very interested to see what the rest of the book has to offer. Some nice world-building here, without it really taking away from the story. Though, I think the story-related stuff I liked the most here was a lot of the themes, specifically of one's purpose, so I'm definitely interested to see things like that explored further in future issues. MacDonald does a very nice job on the interiors, as well, as he really helps to bring everything to life throughout this. All in all, very much looking forward to more of this.
