Free of his cell for the first time in decades, will the Krampus uncover the truth behind the Santas' depowering or leave his jailers to their ultimate fate? It's Snake Plissken by way of the Grinch as the darkly comedic adventure begins here.
I really enjoyed this first issue. I went into it not really knowing what to expect and wasn't disappointed. There is some mild language and the book has a Teen rating but there's nothing too serious or shocking in the story or artwork. Overall, a great read and look forward to the next issue. I give KRAMPUS! #1 a wicked….. Read Full Review
An excellent start to this new series. Outside of the Christmas beginnings for the character, there looks to be a lot of life to Krampus as the series goes on. Packed with as much excitement and zaniness as your crazy intoxicated uncles on Christmas Eve, Krampus #1 is one heck of an entertaining story. Read Full Review

Krampus #1 is an awesome to start to what looks to be an awesome dark comedy series. It delivers a deliciously devious and unique take on Christmas with a fun protagonist. Simply put, I loved it. I recommend that all comic fans check it out. The time of this writing is the perfect time (Christmas Eve) to read it too. I plan on continuing to read the series, but this first issue could be read as a one shot, if you aren't looking to invest in a new series. I wasn't planning on doing that, butKrampus has me hooked. Krampus #1 is a fun holiday romp that is an unexpected gem that you should jump at the chance to get your hands on. Joines and Kotz have a really fun book on their hands that kicks off with a bang. Not many comics can make me laugh, and this one did…many times. Do the holidays right. Do them with Krampus. Read Full Review
The art by Kotz is generally solid, although there are times when I couldn't fully make out his drawings, like the cramped opening pages with the pixies. He does a stellar job designing all of the Santas with different hats and suits and facial hair. The main star of the book, the Krampus, looks like what would happen if Mr. Tumnus turned into the Hulk, and I mean that in the best way possible. He's eye-catching and funny to boot, so you're always waiting for the next scene with him. By all rights, this book is so ridiculous it shouldn't work, but that's exactly why it's so much fun. While not your typical Christmas movie its probably one of the more entertaining seasonal movies, more Gremlins than Love Actually, and if those who loved Trick r Treat get behind this movie its sure to gain the same cult following. For me its just a nice change from the norm and will be added to my Christmas rotation of movies. Worth checking out on the big screen this film isnt perfect but it sure is entertaining. It's been a while since I read a good holiday book, in fact whenever the last issue of Paul Dini's Jingle Belle released" that's when. This was a fun story and I'm very excited to see that it's continuing. There is at least two more issues of this series that I'll be looking forward to for sure, so if you dig holiday themed books or just Christmas in general then you should check out Krampus! Krampus #1 isn't going to break any records, but it's a fun addition to the usually stagnant Christmas comic. Read Full Review
There have been some really lame comics in the past, but Krampus seems like its a good mix of action movie and Santa myths to entertain without nauseating. Read Full Review
Overall, Krampus! #1 is a good romp of a read and well worth the money you pay for it. It has its flaws, but I find the dark yet comedic tone of the story fascinating and immersive. And there's a nice cliffhanger at the end that heightened my interest to pick up the next issue. If Brian Joines and Dean Kotz could maintain the same quality of work they have delivered here, I sure wouldn't mind picking up this title for the long haul. Read Full Review
Krampus! is a comic that will be most enjoyed by those well versed in Christmas lore. Brian Joines sprinkles history throughout in a subtle way that's accessible to all. There are great character designs from Kotz and the visuals match the humor. It will be interesting to see how Krampus handles his mission but I hope we see more of his wicked side. While not all the silliness works, it's a fun read and a must for Krampus and Christmas fans alike. Read Full Review
