Sleepless #1 is a fascinating introduction to a world that would be eerily unremarkable in lesser hands. The team of Vaughn, Del Duca, and Sallah seem like a perfect match by imbuing this tale with enough character and history to keep the reader entertained for many more issues. Hopefully, the rest of the series can maintain the momentum of its enthralling first issue. Read Full Review

I'm a sucker for comics that present characters that I immediately fall in love with and care about what happens to them. Vaughn and del Duca have done this with Poppy and Cyrenic. I'm hooked and I want to find out more. I want their backstory, I want to see their story moving forward, and I want to learn more about the world they inhabit. Read Full Review

What is perhaps most interesting about Sleepless #1 is how efficiently and effortlessly it establishes its world. Its mirroring of the vacant eyes of skulls with the sunken-in, sleep-deprived eyes of Cyrenic show artist Leila Del Duca using a single page to tell so much of the tone of the story and the melancholy of its second most prominent character. In the end, this issue may feel like a prologue more than an actual beginning. And while that may leave a few feeling unconvinced or concerned about picking up this issue, the flawless character work, world-building and artistry by Vaughn, Luca and Sallah make the tale of Poppy and Cyrenic, a story I cant wait to see blossom into something truly unforgettable. My romantic heart wants to give Sleepless a 10 out of 10 because there's no way in hell I'm not reading the rest of this series. It literally hits all of my nerd boxes. But my critic's soul says this isn't a perfect comic. The pace is measured a bit too slowly and some of the panels of action suffer from perspective issues. But the details are right on and as more is revealed, I hope the slow pace will become a building intrigue and tension. This is a first issue with plenty of promise, if you like historical fantasy, romance and intrigue, this is a good #1 to try. Read Full Review

Bleeding Cool - Joshua Davison Dec 9, 2017

Sleepless is unfortunately quite dull. While there may be something there to be offered in later issues, this first one does not sell me well on the prospect. When I compare it to something like Giant Days, which is a dialogue-focused comic that explodes with personality and character, Sleepless just doesnt measure up. I cant recommend it. Though the lead has potential and the art is gorgeous, it just didnt give me enough to evoke excitement or intrigue. Give this one a pass with the caveat that it also may just not be made for me. Ok this one wasn't on my list. I just take it to have enough to pay on credit card for another comics I didn't have in my list and take in another shop than the regular one.
Well I find it poetic. Maybe a little slow, but with nice idea. The probleme's that once I see thatis oncle take the place of the king, I think she will be in danger (Or that he will want married her). I also don't understand what happen after Cyrenic push her. Does she's wounded ? I trust he was like a Undead caracter, and will make her a undead too. So I have to know more about how Sleepless works. That's a good thing, that I can do that only if I brought the next issues.

Cover : Nice, that 50% Why I take it without any knowledge about it (Yep I didn't more
