Cole and the boys have to go ask the witch Morphea to help them find the mysterious cult behind the coming apocalypse. One problem: witches and gravediggers do NOT get along. And we're introduced to Morgan: prophet of the apocalyptic Black Temple cult, and Cole's estranged daughter!
When the going gets tough, the Gravediggers seek help from a witch. Knowledge of their enemy is gained. And readers will see for the first time, just what sort of evil the team will have to face as the story continues. And while this issue is not a high-flying dangerfest, it still is important for its value to the plot. It's another fine piece of work from Wes, Toby, Niko and Jared and therefore worth picking up today. Read Full Review
The artwork is still incredible. Cypress’s unique shading techniques give the book its feel, and Guardia’s colors do a prefect job of bringing it to life. Read Full Review

Gravediggers Union #2 starts digging a hole these Gravediggers are really going to have a hard time getting out of. If they can at all. The secret of the Black Temple looms large over the three heroes. An unfriendly reunion between father and daughter looms even larger. Read Full Review
I'm super excited to continue to follow this book to all the unexpected places it's going. I'm enjoying the quirky weirdness of it. And yes, I know I bagged on the pacing a bit, but I think that's just because it's the second issue. I understand that a first issue is going to be super ramped up because it needs to hook readers. And then the subsequent issues need to pull way back to actually do the work of telling a story, setting everything up, getting all the pieces in place. I have faith in Craig and Cypress and I'm fully on board. Read Full Review
If you're a fan of other books by Wes Craig, such as Deadly Class, or Blackhand Comics (which introduced us to The Gravediggers Union) then you'll like this comic. The subplot of The Black Temple using Union member Cole's estranged daughter Morgan as their prophet is compelling and will bring me back to find out where the story goes. I recommend giving it a look. Read Full Review
Overall, I found this to be a revealing and informative issue. We discovered a lot about the impending apocalypse, the Black Temple and Morgan's role in all of this. A lot of lore is being explored here, which is important when laying the foundations of the story. I'm curious to see how things will unfold and how the Gravediggers Union will try to stop the rise of the Black Temple. Read Full Review

I think this series should keep more moments with Morgan more often or try to create the same tone in the main storyline to stay appealing in 2018. Read Full Review
Wes Craig’s art is great in Deadly Class as I have reiterated as some of my favorite comic art comic out right now, and with the writing in it continues to be great in Issue #2. We see here a much slower pace in the storytelling and action but we make up by setting up all of the three main scenes very well with the full flow of things!
The first scene is wonderful with Wes Craigs art here on yet again our monkey ancestors, I guess that were enslaved to some alien creature things – those Cthulhu-like tree entities which want to find out more but again only mere spooky snippets on what they do, and we are eager to know if these are the origins of these supernatural happenings in the present! Toby Cypress’s chaotic dart more
