If you won't handle this... I will.
Negan continues to be an unpredictable lunatic who manages to charm us at times, but his lust for blood always seems to end up rearing its head reminding us not to fall for his smoke and mirrors. So far, Negan has Rick and company in a position they have never been in before and if the Governor was able to wreak as much havoc as he did in the earlier issues of the series, then we can only imagine the path of destruction Negan will leave in his wake before Rick manages to get his hands on him. If you are a fan of the series then this issue is a must read. If you are a fan of the show and want to jump on board with The Walking Dead, but dont want to read through all 104 issues, I would suggest jumping on with issue #91 and following from there. While Carl only has a few pages in this issue, this is a real defining moment for a character who's already had so many. He's showing that new side of him that's not taking shit from anyone. This has been building ever since he woke up from having the right side of his face completely blown open. He's hardened and not able to back down from doing what he knows is right, even if it means delivering brutal justice. This part of Carl has always been around. Need I remind anyone of the young boy he's already put down after discovering the kid killed his twin just for the fun of it? The injury has only amped up that side of Carl and I literally cannot wait to see what he does with Negan. Read Full Review
I feel as though there is no convincing needed to get someone into The Walking Dead. This is easily my favorite comic book in print right now. It delivers every month and never gets the feeling that they are “mailing it in”. Check it out or continue to be a loser. Read Full Review
The Walking Dead has shifted its attention from zombie threats to human threats. Negan has already proven himself to be quite the match for Rick. With Carl and Jesus both driving the story with difficult adversities to overcome, this issue has really amazed me. Read Full Review
Charlie Adlard and Cliff Rathburn deliver some memorable imagery this month. Though the zombies themselves continue to be an afterthought at this stage in the conflict, the grotesque display of undead outside Negan's camp is enough to remind readers that this is a zombie book. There are certain panels where the level of detail drops out and characters lose all facial features, but in general this is a pretty strong effort from the art team. The general momentum the series has built up since issue #100 continues unabated. Read Full Review
Some pretty big events for Carl in this issue portend explosive action to come. Read Full Review
Walking Dead is a good book. It has periods of greatness within issues and it has entire issues of greatness. This issue is the former. There are some amazing developments that took me by surprise in an otherwise average book. Either way, this book is better than just about everything else I read month after month. Read Full Review
He's written himself into a brilliant corner, and I can't wait to see how the pieces all line up. So while this issue wasn't the best in the series, it was a phenomenal set-up issue, one that has me eagerly anticipating next month. Read Full Review
The negative is that this is another of those frequent “slow” issues. I guess you can't get a giant shocker every issue and I'm sure once collected, this issue will fit in just fine in the larger picture, but by itself it's a bit light. But that's fine. It's still good. I know it's part of a bigger story and stories have highs and lows… and this series has had lower, so that's fine. Read Full Review
