MINISERIES FINALE
The conclusion of the dark fantasy adventure series from Eisner Award-winning writer SKOTTIE YOUNG (I HATE FAIRYLAND, MIDDLEWEST) and artist KYLE STRAHM (SPREAD, UNEARTH) brings Twig and Splat to the end of their quest. But will they acquire the final piece of the recipe they need to save their world? Or will they die trying?
Twig is a feast for the eyes and 100% deserves your attention. Read Full Review
I really liked the idea of the unlikely hero whose job is to work behind the scenes to make sure the obvious hero can save the world when his time comes. This idea gradually unfolds before us, and it gives us a charming story where Twig goes through his own quest and learns his own lessons, all while just trying to do his job. Read Full Review
Strahm delivers a beautifully detailed and unique world for these characters and every page is filled with something new and visually engaging to feed the senses. Read Full Review
Twig is one of the most fun adventure series, capturing everything that makes Saturday Morning Cartoons so lovable. The finale brings about a satisfying end and promises more fun to come. Read Full Review
At issues end, it is promised that Twig Will Return. Young, Strahm, and Beaulieu have a lot of different options for further series that could be placed in the world of the fuzzy, blue hero. Its been rendered with such love and care that it would seem kind of strange to allow it to end at only five issues. Youngs particular twist on the story of the hero makes for an interesting view on the traditional high fantasy story. There are heroes...and then there are heroes behind the heroes. Twigs particular place in that ecosystem of adventure fantasy would be fun to have a little bit more time with in the future. Read Full Review
I want to know more about this world. The art and colors are gorgeous and while the story is nothing spectacular, it is sweet and heartful.
Would have been a better series if things meant something. Besides the part with the Rhino, it felt like it lacked emotion. It was a little fun story but, nothing more.
