Undiscovered Country #9 continues to take us on an adventure much like Alice in Wonderland. We're presented a wondrous world full of possibilities but underneath that wonder is horror. But, what's most impressive is the series continues to hold a mirror to our reality. It may be a funhouse mirror but it's still a twisted reflection of the world we live in. The series as a whole questions American exceptionalism and the building blocks of our nation. It challenges us to question what's right and what's wrong and to think about what happens if any extreme “wins”. Read Full Review
Undiscovered Country #9 continues a lot of what is exceptional about the series: tapping into the plentiful history before the events of the comic, powerful characters and dialogue that we have been hooked on since the start, and wonderful art. Read Full Review
While we might still not know where this story is headed, getting confirmation that it's not headed into expected arenas comes as a relief and leaves us much more excited about the story's potential and what the future will hold for our explorers. Read Full Review
It was a really solid issue. I liked some of the ideas but it didnt really wow me. It it is a needed part of the world building but didnt have that punch that other issues have given.
Not sure I like the larger track that this book is taking...the high concept stuff detaches me from the characters (while Snyder and Soule crow in their letters section that they are doubling down on characters...). Their writing style, combined with the concept rollout, makes this dense to the point of my eyes glazing over. Here's an idea: Spend time advancing the story instead of impressing the world with the results of your awesome brainstorm.
I bought in expecting something very different than what I'm seeing on the pages. I wanted something more like the first arc -- minus the starfish and crazy engineered animals. Instead, it's starting to feel like a Wizard of Oz trip down a yellow brick road paved with too much exposi more
