Issue thirty-four brings together educational fact, team building, action and family investigation. All these elements are woven together so elegantly that it transforms this into one amazing page turning read. This series continues to challenge Peter Parker as a man and as Spider-Man. Struggling to keep personal and super hero separated is a never ending task for our friendly neighborhood hero. You will love all of the aspects (story and art) of this issue. Don’t make the mistake of missing out! Read Full Review

This was another enjoyable issue, but I am beginning to wonder if we are just treading water until Cormac’s true identity is revealed, or something else happens that kicks off a much bigger story. The last few issues have felt like one-shot, villain-of-the-week stories in which Spider-Man takes down the latest bad guy, while Peter’s personal life plods along somewhat like an average soap opera. Amazing Spider-Man #34 succeeds by balancing superhero spectacle with the small, personal moments that define Peter Parker. Joe Kelly continues to build suspense around Cormac Crane and Damage Control without giving away too much, while Ed McGuinness brings every action sequence to life with infectious energy. Although the larger story only moves forward in measured steps, the character work and visual flair make this another enjoyable chapter that keeps anticipation high for the milestone issue just around the corner. Comic Watch - Henry Davis

The Amazing Spider-Man #34 is a fun bit of filler, that plays with the powers of Electro in newfound ways but doesn't quite satisfy as a chapter in the road to issue #1000, aside from a new bit of information uncovered about Cormac. Read Full Review

Some good ideas fall flat amid mis-executed build-up, but the momentum for the Cormac Crane plotline continues to be on fire. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #34 continues Peter’s lackluster struggle with his feelings over the arrival of a long-lost cousin, while Damage Control established a pre-emptive presence in NYC. Joe Kelly’s script has a few interesting beats, but there’s no sense of direction or momentum. The art team’s presentation is the only thing keeping this run moving. Read Full Review

a major title like ASM and not a single user review. and its Sunday! thats insane. well ill tell you my thoughts. Joe Kelly is writing an angry jealous childlike Peter who is very unlikeable. in fact this issue Peter is just a nasty sad sack for much of it. IDK where this Cormac stuff is going but just look at the stars of the issue on the opening pages. who are these losers ? Joe needs to fix this story and go someplace and not rush to an awful ending like the last storyline. Ed's art is fantastic and elevates the book to a 6 for me. but story alone- this is a 3.
