AVENGERS ASSEMBLE: PART 9 - THE PENULTIMATE CHAPTER! The greatest battle in the history of the Multiverse is raging, featuring Avengers from throughout time and space, countless different versions of Captain America and Iron Man and the God of Thunder. Yet somehow, it all comes down to one Starbrand and one Ghost Rider, who unfortunately are the only Avengers whose powers don't seem to be working.

‘Avengers Forever' #15 is another larger-than-life instalment in Jason Aaron's epic, carefully planned endgame for his five-year run on ‘The Avengers', consummately crafted by artist Aaron Kuder. Galactus, Celestials and Mephisto tower above the all-out action on the ground – and in the sky – to deliver a battle bursting off each page. Read Full Review

So, I was mistaken in thinking last issue was the penultimate part of the story? But somehow, this one feels wedged in awkwardly anyway. Read Full Review

The Comicbook Dispatch - StoryBabbler Mar 15, 2023

Avengers Forever #15 is the penultimate part of this storyline in Jason Aaron's Avengers run, but it's a little underwhelming. We do get some good art from the art team, but it's the story that's lacking unfortunately. There is a nice talk between Robbie and Brandy (the Starbrand girl) but that's really the extent of their presence. There's a weird moment with Doom Supreme and Dark Phoenix that feels out of place, you'll know it when you see it. And the action with Mephisto in his current giant state is sadly mundane compared to all the crazier action going around. The ending sets the stage for the final part in this storyline, and hopefully the creative team can stick the landing. Read Full Review

Some outstanding art from Kuder is the best part of this issue. Aaron's scripts aren't bad whatsoever, but this story just doesn't have enough behind it to make me as invested as I know I could be with such a large-scale story. With one issue left in this storyline (Omega), I just really hope the conclusion is worth it.

This isn't terrible, I just wish I had a real reason to care about all that is happening. I'll wait till the final issue to give my opinion on Aaron's run as a whole, but I will say that Avengers Forever, while a bit lost as an Avengers title, did supply us with some compelling one-shot stories at times. It wasn't all bad.

Hypothetically-cool things are happening, and they are (mostly) made memorable by the superb art performance. But the impact just isn't there in the script.

The plot developments remain strictly pro-forma, and with a palpable absence of memorable characters, it's hard to care about this particular apocalypse.

It's a far cry from War of the Realms, where there were tons of great characters to hook my interest.

The only reason this is not a 5 is the outstanding art from Aaron Kuder who delivered wonderfully detailed illustrated multiverse art and shenanigans that I wish I cared about but that is on Jason Aaron. Kuder's art is just straight fire! Kudos to him and Frank Martin on colors.

this issue is whatever to be honest. Cant wait for this event to end so we can move on from Jason Aaron's Avengers run.
