Daredevil/Punisher: The Devil's Trigger #1 is a solid albeit flawed buy if you care more about Daredevil wrestling with broken institutions than about actually spending time in Punisher's head, because the book commits to Matt's crisis and delivers a full narrative loop in one chapter. If you are hoping for a balanced co-lead drama or a truly surprising ethical puzzle, the one-sided execution, underdeveloped Punisher, and the strange "no one sees the guy hanging from the ceiling moment drag down the return on your time and money. As this is the first issue for this miniseries, there's of course time for this story to come around. But Daredevil and The Punisher: Devil's Trigger #1 doesn't stand up on its own and only manages to be a watered-down retelling of a story that was better done elsewhere. Read Full Review
This is purely a setup issue, and the Punisher only appears in one scene, but I like this setup. The storyline is the traditional mobsters taking over each other's territories, but the fact that Frank leaves Matt tied up to hear their plans is cool. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.
