It's too soon to judge how the rest of this crossover will play out, but it's entertaining so far. Read Full Review

While Deadpool #28 isn't a laugh riot, it has its moments. The energy levels dip in the middle, but issue #28 starts out with a bang and ends with one that's just as exciting. Gerry Duggan has produced an entertaining issue while simultaneously setting the next several chapters of this arc. Thus, it's a successful issue, and I recommend reading it. Read Full Review

This was a pretty good starting point for a small crossover. It felt at times like we were hastily moving through the story, but still worked for me.

Shiklah just can't take Deadpool anymore, so it's time for a breakup. Also an apocalyptic monster vs. humans war, wuh-oh. Wouldn't it be great if *this* apocalyptic monster war had something to do with the *other* apocalyptic monster war going on in Monsters Unleashed? Oh Marvel, never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. I think this issue has a slight misalignment between its tone ("wacky Deadpool marriage hijinks") and its plot ("monsters take Manhattan"), but it's certainly a lot of fun. Strong, clean art by Salva Espin helps.

The art was detrimental to this issue. Salva Espin's art is very good, however, I do not believe it's a great choice for this Deadpool arc. The art is too light and colorful for what should be a forboding and impactful storyline. I am not a big fan of Shiklah so I hope this mini crossover puts her back in her coffin for good.
