I'm in. Marvel, you've got me hooked for the rest of the Dungeons of Doom series. I found myself getting to the big reveal on the last page and being honestly disappointed to come to the fan mail section. Read Full Review

If you're a fan of the darker side of Marvel or you just want to see what happens to a country when its dictator is finally gone, then check out Dungeons of Doom #1. It's brutal, it's mysterious, and it proves that the most dangerous things in Latveria weren't the Doombots, but whatever Victor was keeping in his basement. Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett Jan 14, 2026

Dungeons of Doom #1 feels like a bridge from the previous event to what's coming next and it does it in a package that feels a bit new and fresh for superhero comics. Even if you're not interested in the meta story, it's a fun comic you can pick up and just enjoy the chaotic nature of it all. Hopefully it keeps it up and becomes the nice surprise that comes out of “One World Under Doom.” Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke Dec 31, 2025

Dungeons of Doom is a strong, sinister opening that smartly reframes Doctor Doom's legacy as a necessary evil rather than a tyrant's vanity project. While its characters are more functional than memorable, the atmosphere, concepts, and horror-forward execution carry the issue with confidence. If the series can deepen its cast while continuing to unpack what Doom kept locked away for a reason, this could become one of the most unsettling post-event follow-ups Marvel has done in years. Fanlight Zone - Richard Coryell Jan 14, 2026

Dungeons of Doom #1 effectively introduces readers to its setting, providing backstory while retaining an air of mystery about where the plot will go in future issues. The sense of intrigue makes it worthwhile to pick up the first installment at your LCS this week. Still, it's important to note that not much of major significance actually occurs in this debut issue. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Theron Couch Jan 15, 2026

Dungeons of Doom #1 is essentially a collection of advertisements for potential future stories. But there is just enough of a thought-out aftermath to One World Under Doom that the issue is compelling on its own. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez Jan 14, 2026

Dungeons of Doom #1 is a competent setup that knows what it's doing but doesn't do anything particularly memorable with it. You're getting a functional first issue that establishes multiple storylines, creates intrigue through Xavier's warning, and promises chaos when three factions collide underground. The art handles action and atmosphere well, and the pacing moves fast enough that you won't feel cheated of content. However, this is a book trading character connection for plot mechanics, and for the price you're paying, that's a compromise worth questioning. Read Full Review

    Plot
Doctor Doom's dungeons in Latveria are unguarded and filled with secrets and mysteries, which could lead to a weapon that makes you invincible.

HYDRA, the U.S. Army with Red Hulk, and Wakanda's super spy Umbra fight amongst themselves to gain control of this territory, only to fall into different parts of these endless dungeons.

From man-eating monsters and mutant experiments to an alternate version of Mjolnir, everyone is in mortal danger because they are meddling with things beyond their understanding.

A fantastic story that serves as an epilogue to the mega-event ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, with action, explicit violence, and terror.
