Extreme Carnage: Riot is a good addition to the summer event that has found itself redefining Scream in a very cool way. Extreme Carnage is a good example of how edgy and violent Symbiote stories can be and I dare you to get on a bus and not feel a shiver after reading this issue. Read Full Review
Extreme Carnage: Riot #1 is a brilliant transition issue as the second half of the crossover is underway. The different players involved are converging, and whilst this may have taken time, it will be fascinating to see what Carnage finally has planned... The Symbiote action has been glorious in every issue, and the art has been phenomenal in its grisly depictions, but the actual story needs to keep moving forwards as well. With this appearing to happen, the crossover has regained its momentum. Read Full Review
Even as someone who read every chapter of "Extreme Carnage" thus far, the one-shot format and its unfocused approach is making it difficult to trace this story. Read Full Review
The art was not great, and I gotta say, the writing isn't great either. This is the type of symbiote story that Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman tried to uplift these sorts of characters from.
It was ok? Its hard to rate. I enjoyed reading it but, its far from being that good. Its a little corny but, had some great looking pages and I do like Silence.
The art is sometimes so unintelligible, they really should pick better artists for symbiotes.
Carnage recruits Riot and Andi/Silence has some trouble connecting to the symbiote hive mind. This is a mediocre comic. Mediocre isn't terrible -- my rating's still in the "average" zone. But this number got dogpiled by a heap of real problems. Andi's plot moves terribly slow, the symbiote du jour is (at least in this issue) punishingly dull, and the constant change of artistic styles is starting to hurt story continuity. The symbiote visuals here are pretty cool, but the non-symbiote stuff, yikes.
God I hate this story...
Marvel clearly have no idea what they are doing with these characters, this is just so stupid and boring
