FOREVER PART 3 The Kree Empire vs. the Annihilation Wave... with Earth's heroes in the middle! Galactus returns to judge the world!
This is a very interesting book. Our heroes are not only faced with a huge problem, but they decide on a very unlikely solution to that problem. The question remains, will the plan backfire? I also liked the very brief scene between Johnny and Ben where Johnny says he would much rather be there (witnessing the possible destruction of the earth) than in the negative zone. I think that it will be interesting to see if Hickman delves deeper into the emotional and physical scars that the Negative Zone events may have had on Johnny, and in a way it feels like that is what he is sort of doing here by hinting at that. I felt that the Barry Kitson and Paul Mounts artistic team was perfect for this space adventure. Both artists did a fantastic job. I am definitely looking forward to the next issue. Read Full Review
Bringing this blockbuster issue to life is Barry Kitson. Theaters are pushing 3D movies hard right now, but audiences would be better off taking a gander at Kitson's imagery that leaps off the page with astonishing impact. There are more than a few breathtaking images in this single issue -- Kree soldiers jetpacking through space, a certain cosmic being making a stunning entrance, and more -- and they are all handled with a perfect sense of scale and pacing so that they build on each other until the jaw-dropping end. The beauty of Jonathon Hickman's scripts is that they are often foreshadowed early on, or they start earlier on in the series reaching fruition after many story arcs. While this provides a little agitation over the slow-pace the other stories have, when the pay-off is a story that manages to intertwine the massive scope of science fiction with powerful, family character moments like it has here, it is more than worth waiting for. The story is developing wonderfully, and after just three issues, we've been provided with a set up that is going to provide, quite possibly, one of the greatest Fantastic Four stories told in a very, very long time. Building off the foundations set up years prior, Jonathon Hickman is weaving a story that has everything a sci-fi, Fantastic Four fan will enjoy. Read Full Review
"Fantastic Four" #602 kicks the current storyline into high gear, and just in time. If this momentum continues, we should have a fairly satisfying "Fantastic Four" epic when all is said and done. Read Full Review
