Aug 25, 2022Peter Davids return to a fan favorite character thats become synonymous with his name continues on this soul searching quest to find out why hes back in the land of the living, and its peppered with Davids patented humor and quippy filled dialogue. This comic just serves as a reminder of how missed Genis has been from comics for nearly 20 years. He is a fantastic character, especially when written by Peter David who wrote his last solo series.

I dont get why the low scores. I'm not the most knowledgeable in captain marvel lore but i have found this series until this point very interesting and entertaining.

It's good 2nd issue but the time/place/memory hopping around is a bit much to keep track of. It makes sense but I had to think twice about the sequence of events. Still I like how Peter David writes and it doesn't hurt that Juanan Ramirez is doing some fine art too.

Some deft continuity nods and dangling-but-clearly-important plot threads elevate an adequate but not particularly remarkable space adventure. It's written and drawn decently; what makes it good is the strong sense that the author has a cool big-picture plan for future installments.
