Best of all, if you are new to the title, this is a perfect jumping-on point which gives you a great feel as to what the title is all about. This comic was a light-hearted Christmas style tale, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I had a few good chuckles, the story and art were fine, no major complaints here. If you want to read a light-hearted Asgardian x-mas tale, this one was by far the best one I've ever read. Granted, it was the only Asgardian x-mas style tale I've ever read, but my point stands! Christmas issues in superhero comics don't often work. They're too sappy (or cheesy) or seem like a fill-in that doesn't matter; "Journey into Mystery" #632 avoids those problems. There's heart to this story, but not so much that you want to throw up, and it genuinely feels like the 'next issue' of the series, not one where the holiday theme has been forced upon it, derailing it for a month. If Christmas comics were reread every year like TV specials are rerun, this issue may be a candidate for earning a permanent spot in that rotation. Read Full Review

While I don't think the art is everything it could be, I'd be lying if I didn't say that Breitweisers weren't a huge improvement over some of the previous issues of Journey Into Mystery. And as it stands, Kieron Gillen reminds us of his cleverness with a script so fun that you'd be hard-pressed to match it. This issue is really simplistic, even for a one-shot. However, it manages to warm the heart and tell a great story, so I have nothing but good things to say. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, you can appreciate Loki genuinely trying to be kind, and in the end, cute puppies supplement an extremely well-written story. Read Full Review
